Summary
Dr. Brady Thomasson has his hands full. Christmas is two days away, and he’s the physician in charge at Lilac’s senior living community. A mysterious illness, blizzard conditions, and a skeleton staff would be enough to keep even the most seasoned medical professional on his toes. Will the unexpected arrival of his former girlfriend distract him from his duties?
With a brewing scandal about to crash down on her head, environmental lawyer Camille Zignetti drives through a snowstorm to spend Christmas with her ailing grandfather. Certain she will pay a price for her employer’s bad behavior, could Brady blame her for wanting to hide from a situation she’d helped to create?

A Great Holiday Story to Enjoy Anytime of the Year
This is a sweet and fabulously delightful small town romance, the fifth in Pamela Ferguson’s “Lilac” series of standalone novels and novellas. I am enjoying this series, the stories are well written with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. The story is set around the holidays, but you can enjoy it anytime of the year. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are likable and easy to care about too. Camille Zignetti, an environmentalist lawyer, thought she had her dream job working with a famous actor and fellow environmentalist, but he turned out he was not always on the up and up and was not like he claimed to be. She is embarrassed by the scandal and wants to hide out and when she gets a call that her grandfather is ill and that she is his liaison for the family, she goes to Lilac to find out what is going on with him, his health and why her family members did not have permission to talk about his health. Camille travels to Mountain Mist and arrives safely despite the terrible winter storm. She was not expecting to see her ex-boyfriend, Dr. Brady Thomasson, to be working at Mountain Mist senior living community where her grandfather lived. Brady and Camille were in love, but their careers took them to different places. I adored these two characters, some of the secondary characters were great too, including Leo, who had his reason for making Camille his only contact. This is a beautifully plotted second chance romance, and the author fits an impressive amount of story in her novella sized book, a great book to enjoy in one sitting. Pamela Ferguson, thank you for another enjoyable story.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Stephanie Dillard is a talented narrator and versatile voice artist. She covers the voices for all the characters, gives each their own distinct sound, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. She has a complete understanding of the characters she is portraying, takes each role and makes it her own, sounding believable and just as I picture the characters to sound. She sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the characters’ emotions and projects them into her performance. Stephanie Dillard is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen.

short but sweet festive short story
When I started listening to this book I hadn't realised that it was a part of a collection . Luckily this can also be read as a standalone story. It was everything that I hoped it would be short- sweet- cosy- warm and uplifting. It kept me engaged throughout and is a perfect story to read/ listen to at this time of the year . I was given this book by the author/narrator in return for an honest and unbiased review

Great Christmas story
This is a very lovely Christmas story about a woman who ends up at her Grandfather's retirement home over CHristmas and finds one of her ex-boyfriends working there.
The story follows them both as they get back to knowing each other again and trying to work out if the other one wants to get back together again.
