The perfect goodbye...

Although it is a shame there won't be another instalment - Jessica has called time on this series at the right time and I'm looking forward to her opening up a new world for us to explore and enjoy in her next books. It simply couldn't go on & on but I am glad this delivered all the warm, moving & happy endings we've come to love from JR. There is some sadness & heartbreaking moments along the way & one speech in particular brought me to tears. Highly highly recommended to HH fans, Read in order if you're new to this world for a more overall enjoyable experience.

Thank you Jessica for writing books we can lose ourselves in and for creating these characters and story's that feel like coming home & a warm hug. You've created an excellent series here!

Both narrators did well but there are some errors in editing of the Sam chapters. Not a big deal but worth noting in case this can be changed.

Great Series

I really enjoyed the first book but struggled with the narrator. I’m really glad I stuck to the series. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them and all the characters have been excellent and I’ve really warmed to the main narrator.

Spoiled by new narrator

The 3 stars I've given for performance was not meant at Emma Swan. Instead aimed squarely at the lady reading for Fizz, Lesley Harcourt. You'd have thought there would have been some effort on either her part or the producers to emphasise the type of character that Samantha is - a warm, caring individual. Sadly, during Fizz's chapters, if Samantha said anything she came across as very harsh and cold. I actually found it hard to warm to anyone voiced by her. I'm glad it's the only book in this series where Ms Harcourt was narrating otherwise I wouldn't have bothered with so many of them.

Anyway, that aside, the story wrapped up nicely and didn't feel rushed in any way.

I do feel I'd like to address something that countless other listeners have mentioned in reviews and that is 'trigger warnings' and 'why aren't there any?' Well, I don't see any problem with non-fiction books covering topics some may see as 'triggering'. Authors cover difficult topics sometimes in order to bring awareness of things others may know nothing about. Yes, they may be upsetting to some, but they'll be educational to others. I'm not saying I haven't faced many difficulties in my life. I've unfortunately suffered more than many, but I have a pragmatic way of looking at things on the whole and feel it's important for things to be written about - it can help people going through such those hard times to know how to deal with these instances and know they are not alone.

All in all, these topics are dealt with in this series with love, care and compassion by the writer and I'm very glad I listened. So, if you're wondering whether to listen or not because of other people's trigger warnings, don't be put off on those grounds.

Beautiful series of books

The hedgehog hollow series has brought me hours of joy and tears over the many books.
Each next book has been eagerly anticipated and they have never failed to hit the spot ,bringing individual storylines and characters together with a wide range of experiences.
The narrators help to keep the clear individual narratives understandable and definitely add to their personality.
I feel sad this is the last book in the series but it is definitely the right time to leave these characters as they look to their futures.
Jessica Redland has become a firm favourite author of mine now and I cannot wait to explore more of her books, highly recommend!!
