About this listen
Blondie's 1998 with a Goat: Chosen Book 7
Former child star Marlow Jeffers is sick of being treated like a meal ticket by his parents while they continuously ignore his twin brother because they don't think sweet Bentley is worth their time. Burnt out and needing a change, Marlow buys a food truck, grabs his brother and flees to Purdy, Nebraska, where he meets Arlington "Arry" Martin. The man is gorgeous and has a fashion sense like he doesn't realize what decade it is, but he treats Marlow's brother well, and even when Marlow almost messes everything up, he is still happy to call him mate.
Precious Boy: Chosen Book 8
An accident stole Bentley Jeffers arm when he was just a child. He learned to function just fine without it, and was even proud of all he could accomplish even while being "disabled" at one point, but selfish parents and cruel people had made him feel ashamed over the years, and now he hides what's left of his arm so he doesn't "gross anyone out". When he's kidnapped by men who mistake him for his brother, he's then rescued by a gorgeous man who treats him like he's the most precious being in the world. But that can't last forever, right? Or can Kinsey Walt remind him what it's like to be proud of all he can do?
Little Sh*t: Chosen Book 9
When the snarky, street savvy Carter Benson is rescued by the big - and absolutely adorable - Harley Daniels, he knows there is something special about the big, overly blunt man who feels the need to apologize for his accidental, brutal honesty. But Carter has done things in his past he is pretty sure an FBI agent - even one who turns into a giant bear from time to time - wouldn't be okay with. But he can't deny his need to protect the big guy, even if he's probably 20 times stronger than Carter, and with that protectiveness, trust soon follows. Carter might be protecting his big bear from the hurt brought on by the people he loves, but Harley is helping Carter fight the demons that are always chasing him.

My favorite bundle so far
This bundle has books 7-9 (Blondie’s 1998 with a Goat, Precious Boy and Little Sh*t) in the Chosen series by JD Light. This has been my favorite of all of the bundles thus far because I absolutely adored all three stories and the characters in each of them so much. I loved the close relationship between the twin brothers and my heart ached so many times for Bentley. I’m not sure JD Light could have picked better mates for both of them then she did with Arry and Kinsey. These stories are all heavy on the emotion and love and low on the angst, which makes them an even easier listen.
The narration by Kenneth Obi, as per usual with this series, is perfect. He continues to give each character a distinctive voice, which is even more impressive given the sheer number of different characters in this series. I can’t remember the last audio where I giggled as much as I did with this one, and I think that’s because Kenneth excels at witty banter, which seems to be a connecting ingredient amongst this series.
If you love short stories about shifters, mates, witty banter and honestly good, and decent characters, definitely add this one to your list.

Enjoyed it.
Even though I haven't read the first 6 books in this series, something I would recommend doing, I really enjoyed these 3 quite short stories. The different books kind of melt into each other. I did feel I missed some background information about the main story line, but not so bad that I couldn't make sense of it. It mostly made me want to read those first 6 books as well. :)
Overall, I wasn't completely wow'ed by these stories, but I did enjoy them a lot.

I love these books!
I love these books! J D Light is my go to feel good author, I think I’ve read these books about 4 or 5 times now. I love all of the couples and reading about how they found each other, while adding to the on going plot throughout the series. Kenneth Obi does an amazing job bringing the characters to life and really does help immerse the reader into this fantastic world! I can’t wait for the next bundle on audio.

Brilliantly Snarky and Funny
This is a brilliant series, the characters each get their own book but all the characters from the previous books still feature which I love. The storyline is interesting and the plot builds as you read each book. These books aren't standalones as to really understand the story you need to read them in order, and I immediately want to read the next one.
Ken does a brilliant job narrating giving each character his own distinct voice whilst retaining Ken's smooth and silky tone, which I love.

I love the bundles!!
The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. Kenneth Obi is one of the top 5 narrators (so far) for me, I can listen without break and have no problems to follow. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Great stories for easy listening
These books are great stories for easy reading/listening. They’re not complex or deep, no angst or cliffhangers, and there’s no real depth to the characters. However they are likeable, different enough to be interesting, and sexy.
They are part of a series and there’s a background through-story and continuation of characters, which does mean you’ll enjoy them more if you’ve read the earlier ones.
Kenneth Obi, the narrator, does an excellent job of bringing the characters to life, in particular how each one has a completely different voice, making it easy to keep up. He also provides consistency as characters cross books, and the pure narration is clear and obvious.
I’d definitely recommend these audio books for a long drive, for example, but start at the series beginning.

A Bundle Of Love…
The review you’re about to read is based on my experience while listening to the narrated version of the Chosen Bundle 7-9. This means I cannot give honest feedback about the composition of the writing. I can, however, give genuine feedback about the books in this collection, the narration, and my general opinion of the content in this bundle. That being said, let’s jump right in shall we?
I always start off my reviews about audiobooks with my thoughts on the narrator and the narrative provided by the reader. This book bundle was read for us by none other than the talent Kenneth Obi. He’s been one of my favorite narrators from the very start of my journey into M/M audiobooks. Ken has a wonderful talent for breathing life into the characters and world those characters exist in. This book was no different from any of Ken’s other productions. He did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life and making them stand out as individuals. I had a wonderful time listening to this collection of books, and I can honestly say that another narrator probably wouldn’t have done this book justice.
Because this book is actually a collection of three books, I’m going to give a short review for each one individually without giving away too much. Hopefully, you find them helpful.
BLONDIE’S 1998 WITH A GOAT
J.D. Light does a fantastic job of creating characters that a person can easily fall in love with. They all have unique personalities that really draw a person in. Unfortunately, in book seven of the Chosen series, I found it hard to fall in love with the two main characters, Arry and Marlow. Don’t get me wrong! This wasn’t a terrible story. As a matter of fact, there are quite a few things about this book that I loved, such as Arry making Marlow’s brother Bentley feel comfortable in his presence. That was particularly sweet because Bentley usually feels uncomfortable around strangers due to his missing limb. I also really loved Marlow meeting Arry’s mother for the first time and him wanting to give her grandchildren to love. Despite the positive things about the characters that I loved, I have to admit that they were otherwise easily forgettable.
It bums me out to admit that this particular book from the series just didn’t hold my interest as much as the previous books. I have a feeling it was due to the characters, rather than the story itself. There was additional building to the story arc involving the antagonists of the series which was great. It’s nice seeing that we are steadily moving on when it comes to that aspect of the series. I love a good series that consistently progresses in that overall plot and that it doesn’t just stagnate. But, aside from that, I can’t remember much about this particular book, and the things that most stood out for me were interactions with secondary characters like Bennett, Thompsyn, Ridley, and Arry’s mother.
PRECIOUS BOY
Unlike the first book of this bundle, I thoroughly enjoyed Precious Boy. There was so much about this particular story that really tugged at my heart. I’ll start off by saying that Bentley and Kinsley are so sweet together. Bentley has so many insecurities due to his missing limb and Kinsley is determined to help Bentley break free of those insecurities. Bentley worried that he was unfit to be a mate because he’s flawed physically. He’s proven wrong, however, when he discovers that Kinsey accepts him just the way he is despite his missing limb. When he discovers that Kinsey is just as flawed as him but perfect in Bentley’s eyes, he realizes that perhaps he needs to start accepting himself as well. I liked seeing how much Bentley began to blossom as a person thanks to Kinsey’s love. The boy really started to grow into himself, gaining confidence that he’d been missing for years. It was a sweet, loving, sappy, and fluffy story which is what you expect from one of J.D. Light’s Books.
LITTLE SH*T
Oh gosh, I really loved the story between Carter and Harley! So, this one starts off a little differently. We don’t know much about Harley except what we saw in Precious Boy. He’s an FBI agent that tends to speak before thinking which means he’s not allowed to talk around victims. Carter, on the other hand, is a new character that we know nothing about. He doesn’t give two shits about what he says or does. He’s unapologetic about who he is, despite his shady past, and that makes him a little rough around the edges. I really loved that Carter felt the need to protect Harley, the big bear shifter. He doesn’t like that people try to keep Harley quiet or that they criticize him for being who he is. I fell in love with both of them because they each come across as a bit rough, but when they are together they are nothing but love. I could honestly listen to this story over and over again.
Overall this collection of books was fantastic. The first book was a bit eh for me, but it was still enjoyable as part of the series. If you’re a fan of J.D. Light and/or her previous Chosen books, or a fan of Kenneth Obi, I suggest giving this collection a go. It is worth the time spent listening and getting to know more about the intriguing world J.D. has created.

Enjoyable
Light's Chosen Bundle is a collection of books 7, 8, and 9. I found them to be interesting and left me wanting more (again). Obi's capable narrative once again brings these characters to life. I really enjoy hearing the evolution of his narrations with every book I listen to.
