About this listen
A Christmas wedding in Colorado? A two-week celebration with family and friends? Who does that?
Photojournalist Reagan Bryant has just returned from six-month stint in Afghanistan. Haunted by the tragedy that ended her last assignment, she's searching for some peace - something to end the guilt and chase the trauma away. Two weeks at the resort hotel owned by her future sister-in-law's father seems like the perfect escape.
Shelby Sutton doesn't trust women. They always seem more interested in her father's money than in her. But at her sister's request, she vows to make friends with Reagan, a woman whose sad and haunted eyes are nearly impossible to ignore.

Another cracking Gerri Hill with great narrator.
Loved this written story (Gerri Hill’s book are SO good) so thought I’d give it a go as an audiobook.
Absolutely loved it! Nicol Zanzarella’s voice and ability to convey the different nuances of emotion just made this perfect.
Definitely one to return to, and a narrator I’ll look out for in future.

listen anytime
Xmas stories don't have to be read at xmas, today is thanksgiving but I'm not American, read when/what you want.
sisters of the bride and groom at a 12day xmas wedding become friends, but there's an attraction neither the lonely or the ptsd sufferer can deny. each helps the other and find thier first falling in love together, with each other.
from sadness to joy this is a lovely story to inspire lonely hearts to keep looking.
Great writing and narration to warm your heart at anytime of yr.

So mediocre
Reading the summary of this you might expect it to be a lot of fun and the kind of clichéd romance you secretly love.
It is not that. It's kind of bland, and lacking that tense feeling in my gut where I longed for the couple to find a way to each other. There are even moments where I felt the author was just bumping up the word count.
Where there was much opportunity for levity, Hill once again took a more serious, dark route and it did not pay off.
Having said that, the narrator worked well with what she was given.

light-hearted but weak storyline, well narrated.
Several annoying characters and the disgusting behaviour of Shelby's mother was not addressed satisfyingly.
