Summary
A steamy, one bed, fake fiancé standalone romance from Amazon Top 50 bestselling author Jaine Diamond.
When my brother’s best friend proposes we get engaged, I’m a fool to say yes.
It’s a fake engagement, because men like Jameson Vance don’t fall in love with women like me.
He’s a gorgeous billionaire, a marketing genius and a playboy, and he’s only getting engaged to please his family.
I’m an introverted writer, just trying to start my life over, and I’d rather mingle with the rose bushes in his garden than fall in love again.
But when we share a bed, our sizzling chemistry blurs the line between fake and real. And when Jameson turns on the charm, I can’t help melting from his growly whispers of “my wife.”
When he won’t follow through on the explosive tension between us, though, I realize there’s so much more to this fake engagement than meets the eye. Because my fiancé is keeping one hell of a secret from me.
I know I’d be crazy to trust him with my heart.
But by the time I finally feel his searing touch, I know I’m already falling for his charming deception.

wow
So different from Jaine other books I have listened to, but it was brilliant. I loved this book the story was great and the narrators were excellent. Can't wait for the next book.

Really disappointing
I was really looking forward to listening to this but it was really disappointing.
I’m all for fake engagements but the premise of this is quite ridiculous. It’s actually not very clear as to why exactly Jameson needs a fake engagement, nor clear on who knows what and altogether it’s a bit messy. We go from a ban on sex to fake dating, and then sharing a bed. It’s not even necessary for them to share a bed if all the staff have signed NDAs and he doesn’t care what they think anyway. It’s just so contrived. If the author wants the characters to have to share a bed then take them out of the home where it would make more sense. (As with Jesse and Katie).
I detested the whole “book within a book” concept and had zero interest in Wolf and Rowan. I just had to skip those parts.
Jameson and Meghan are both great characters but it’s such a waste of good characters and the story surrounding them is so very dull. It goes nowhere, and nothing much happens. There’s zero drama other than self made. There is limited interaction outside of the couple making the fake engagement pointless. We don’t really have any villains and there isn’t really any jeopardy.
The sex, when it finally happens is quite hot and the narrators do a great job of the material. They are the only positives I can find.
I usually love Jaine Diamond but this book really doesn’t do it for me at all. I really struggled to finish.
