Summary
Nico
She serves me coffee late at night when I come around to write lyrics, but it’s not the caffeine I’ve gotten addicted to. We’ve got the spark, but she’s the only woman in town who seems to be immune to my charms. When it’s time for me to leave for my cross-country tour, I just can’t imagine not seeing her for months. So I offer her a job on the road with me.
Kat
Everyone in LA knows that Nico Todd has a way with songs and with the ladies. What he doesn’t know is that I would love to let him have his way with me. But my life can only revolve around one infuriatingly cute guy - the six-year-old that I live with. Imagine my surprise when Nico finds out about my little boy and tells me to bring him and my mom on the road too.
And imagine Nico’s surprise when he realizes my son is the biggest charmer of them all.

Amazing! 2. Book in the series and my 2. Favorite
Okay.... Jason Clarke can make anything sound sexy. So of course, had to give this one a listen.
Read the 3. Book first. Which is my favorite of the 3 books in this series.
This one is really sweet. And the storyline is beautiful but also a bit more rough to listen to. But it's worth it.

Kayley Loring Quickly Becoming a Favorite
Another fantastic book from Kayley Loring. This is the Nico's story, which is the next one in the series with Sleeper. Once I started listening, I could not stop. I loved it so much I could not sleep and stayed up all night to listen. Nico was immediately drawn to a waitress at a coffee shop in his neighborhood and spent every night drinking coffee just so he could be near her.
I could really feel the chemistry between Nico and Kat. There were several times where my heart broke for Nico because Kat did not always take him seriously. So many emotions throughout. I found myself laughing a lot, mostly at Kat's inner dialog. Kat's mother also stole the show a few times. Plenty of steam, laugh out loud moments, great characters that grew throughout the story and of course the HEA we love. Even if the HEA was hard to get to, it was worth it in the end. Narration was great. Jason Clarke and MacKenzie Cartwright are always fantastic and this is no exception. Getting to hear Jason Clarke sing was a great little bonus as well.

I cannot give this enough stars!!!!
What happens when Mr. Hotshot singer/songwriter stumbles into one of the hottest diners in LA after midnight? He finds himself mesmerized by a pair of striking blue eyes, who won't let him go. Nico Todd is stuff dreams are made of, and doesn't want for female companionship of the bedroom variety.
But after seeing Kat at the 101, he was hooked from the first cup of coffee. He finds himself unable to stay away .... and her an unexpected muse!
Kat sees the pretty boy with the long, beautiful eyelashes and would like nothing more than to be whisked away, but she already has a man at home....of the six year old variety. After the birth of Tate, Kat gave up her dreams of filmmaking and turned her focus solely on her son. She doesn't have time for troublemakers like Nico.
But, a walk to her car one evening with Nico makes her second guess the direction she's headed...that and an explosive kiss. Nico convinces Kat to come on tour with him, along with her mother Lou and little Tate. After all, what better way to make the rockstar run screaming than close quarters and real life intrusions, right?
Strap in, because the minute they step on the bus, hilariousness ensues, along with tough situations and STEAMY sex!
Kayley handles the single parent situations in this series so beautifully. The children in her books are treasured by their parent's love interest, and you see these bonus parents fall for the kids along with their parent. I love it. She broaches sensitive topics, such as parental guilt, unfair character judgement based on stereotypes, as well character introspection and growth so beautifully.
And the fart jokes, and the poop jokes....and let's not forget the "Bros" or "Booby Holders"! 🤣 She truly let us see through the eyes of a small child! Life is not always pretty with them! Lou gave tough love when needed but she and Nico's Gramma were so funny! Nico's relationship with his Gramma is outstanding!
I could write a whole review based solely on the amazing narrators. Jason Clarke was PERFECTLY cast as Nico, and his beautiful singing! 😍 However, while his growl was super sexy during the HOT bedroom scenes, his differentiation for all the different characters was TRULY spectacular!
Mackenzie Cartwright also did a fantastic job! I loved her different voices for the hilarious ladies in this book, but she portrayed Tate without a super chipmunk type voice, it was really natural sounding, as well as having a hot male voice!
I loved the little video diaries that were actually duet style between chapters! All in all, a beautiful storyline with perfectly cast portrayals for the most lovable cast of characters! Must listen!

I'm a Nicoholic! Actually I'm a kayleyoholic!
Another 5 star audiobook from Kayley Loring.
This Audiobook is exactly what you want from a romantic comedy.
The MC's Nico and Kat are so relatable and loveable, from the moment we meet them you can feel the chemistry between them.
All the side characters are charming and funny, especially little Tate.
I loved that there was no unnecessary drama, just lots of heat and fun.
I enjoyed every single second of this book. The story was interesting, clever and witty, the narration by Jason Clarke was hot and sexy and Mackenzie Cartwright was spot on with her narration and comedic timing and delivery. Bravo!!!

The epitome of romcom
After only two books, this author might be a new favorite. I love the deadpan humor, the scorching heat and the beautiful emotions. The epitome of romcom.
I enjoyed the way Nico inserts himself slowly in Kat’s life and family. Such commitment was great to read about. And though I wasn’t a fan of the lyrics, it was nice to see his feelings expressed through them. I loved seeing him building a family for himself where his was lacking.
The side characters were delightful, special mention for Nico’s gramma, Kat’s mother and little Tate who’s so sweet and funny.
As an audiobook, the narration brought a little something more to the story, especially Kat’s journal which was recorded duet style, with both narrators interacting together. A highly entertaining audiobook that I recommend.

Brilliant!
I love Kayley’s books. The stories are light and touching. No hard work or much drama. The male characters are a dream come true. I wish more men were like that. Jason and Mackenzie what a brilliant pair! Well read guys

This has everything!
There are times I need a story that will not only make me fall in love, but make laugh, tear up, love and just feel good. This book is it! Nico has his heart set on Kat, but being a famous singer, and being a child TV star has made me out of reach to her. Hiring her to document his tour seems to be a logical step to win her heart. But she has a son! And a mother! Just bring them along and see what happens. Now involved and falling for them all, things appear to be on track! But will it stay that way? Will he stay faithful? Will she be able to deal with his fame? And what about her son, Tate? With humor and passion, Kayley Loring gives us Charmer. Nico is swoon worthy! He is good looking and talented, but what makes easy to fall for is his heart. It's huge! He is wonderfully attentive and his scenes with Tate just melt me. Kat is independent, but she definitely holds a bit of insecurity. I love how she puts Tate first, yet wants to balance her life. And her mother is hysterical! The real scene winner is Tate. This little boy is energetic, curious and reminds me so much of my kids! If you want a book that will warm your heart and make you feel happy and make you laugh, pick this one up!
Kayley Loring takes care when casting her books, and Jason Clarke and Mackenzie Cartwright are perfect for this story. Clarke brings so much to Nico. He has that warmth to his voice, making him easy to fall for. And he sings! What a bonus because he is amazing! Cartwright finds the essence of Kat. She has the mother tone and the real woman feels. You can feel the switch, and I love how easy it is for her. Both have incredible comedic timing and truly enhanced this book. Loved their performance.
