About this listen
Ivan Connor's publisher has just turned down his wonderful new novel. His agent is out of ideas, and the only person to turn up at his latest reading is his mum. He's also desperately jealous of the marketable Francesca Brady, a hugely successful author of fat romantic books for fat romantic people, whose expansive hair and bright red lipstick attack him from posters everywhere he goes. But Ivan has a brilliant idea. He's going to beat Francesca at her own game....

Another funny Colin Batemen classic
Great story. Colin Bateman's humour is pure genuis. I struggled with the narrator in this one - nice voice but a but slow pace for this style of book and seemed to dull the humour. Glad I stuck with it.

Laugh out loud
Any additional comments?
This is another great one from Bateman. It's got a different narrator but given the book is set in England I think it works and the narrator did a really good job. As with many of his other books (especially I Predict a Riot and Driving Big Davie), I found this laugh out loud in places. It's never the storyline but the conversations between the characters that make me laugh and that I think Bateman is great at.

Not sure about narration...
Classic Bateman but I missed the pace and delivery of Stephen Armstrong. Funny how you almost expect an audible book to sound similar to others by same author.
