About this listen
“I just want to apologize, but I can’t get close to him long enough to work up to it.”
Back home from his first year of university, River Reid has been designated the pet sitter for his sister’s cat, Almond. He doesn’t mind. He’s got the summer to figure out whether he wants to keep going to a local college or accept a sports scholarship from somewhere with a little more glamour. But things take a turn for the complicated when River has to rush Almond to the vet...and comes face to face with the nerd he bullied all through high school.
"I’m looking for a fresh start. Not a replay of my 10 most mortifying moments."
Love is the last thing on Weston’s mind. A bit of a geek who has always preferred animals to people, Weston is biding his time interning for Sunnydale Animal Hospital in hopes of a great recommendation and some clinic hours to put toward his education. Once the scholarship offers roll in, he’s out of there - off to conquer a new place that doesn’t remind him of the merciless bullying he faced as a teenager. Giving River a second chance was never part of his plans...but plans are subject to change.
Welcome to Sunnydale Vets, where love is the best medicine, and all it takes to fix your problems is the willingness to roll up your sleeves and get to work. This heartwarming audiobook features mentions of mpreg, an awkward reunion, a laidback jock chasing after an ambitious nerd, and one very satisfied cat. This audiobook and every other audiobook in the Sunnydale Vets series can be listened to in any order.

Enemies to lovers!
River is back home from college on a break. He has decided to be a better person than his mean teenage years and apologize to all those he hurt. Weston is an intern at Sunnydale vet. One of River’s victims who won’t make it easy for him. Cute the way this two come about each other and get together. Biting my nails on what plans Weston had and if he’d leave River. Lovely story and great addition to the series.

Brilliant
This was a brilliant book to listen to as we meet River who wants to atone for how he behaved in school to people like Weston. He see him when he takes his sisters cat in to the clinic but when he tries to talk to Weston he won’t talk about anything other than cat care. So he hatched a plan to get Weston attention which leads to them getting to together but it’s nearing the end of summer so they have decisions on where they are going to college.
