Summary

The fourth heart-stopping novel in James Patterson's Alex Cross series. Just as Alex Cross is beginning to feel that life is good and he is finally coming out of the depression he's been in since the death of his wife, he is called to Union Station train terminal - a man is on the loose, firing at random into the swarming crowds of travellers.

Psychopath Gary Soneji seems determined to go down in a blaze of glory, and he wants Alex Cross to be there. Will this be the final showdown?

Slightly disappointed

Once again the story was very good, but the different narrator spoilt it very slightly

Jeff Harding Awesome

What made the experience of listening to Cat and Mouse the most enjoyable?

Jeff Harding's entertaining narration.

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoy Alex Cross books and the story was very good.

Any additional comments?

Raj Ghatak was very poor, with robotic, bland narration.

easy to listen but not much happening

I'm not sure what the presence of Alex cross has on the story, or how he "solved" anything...he has no impact of the story tbh. left puzzled as to the point of not using a character.

but was ready to listen to very forgetable

Excellent narration

What is it with some reviewers who can’t get past a different narrator? Jeff Harding narrates Lee Child’s Reacher book’s excellently and did so here. He brought his own style to it and, in my opinion, is a vast improvement on the earlier narrator used for the Alex Cross books. I was surprised when Patterson gave the first person narrative to a different character- but it worked, perhaps increasing his importance. The mix of psychology, detective work and personalities makes these books interesting rather than a bland ‘who done it’.

Narrator

I really love the story of this book and was keen to read it especially reading the first three in the series. The biggest thing that disappointed me about this book was the narrators. By book 3 I pictured Alex Cross in my mind so when I heard two different narrators on the fourth book I couldn’t picture the character the same. Besides that everything else was great
