About this listen

For Carter Madden, his time in the military isn't the only thing that haunts him.

For Serenity Taylor, unanswered questions can drive a sane mind mad with speculation.

But a Madden man may not be for every woman. Especially when broken promises cut deep and unknown secrets whisper loudly in the dark.

Contains mature themes.

This book is quite different from the other books. It's much darker - more of a thriller. Love the storyline. Less humour than the other books, but it works well as it suits Carter's character.

More of a thriller, but still great!

Carter’s #Undoing definitely took the series in an unexpected direction—and honestly, the storyline was so far left I nearly got whiplash. While Serenity and Carter’s “first love is true love” connection has been a subtle thread throughout the series, this book delivers their story through some seriously dramatic moments that felt worlds apart from the lighter, easy-read vibe of the previous installments.

That said, Sherelle Green’s writing remains strong. The story is well-told, the emotion is real, and the characters—especially Serenity and Carter—still pull you in with their history and chemistry. It’s a bold departure, but a compelling one, even if it wasn’t quite the breezy experience the earlier books offered.

A dramatic, intense twist in the series—beautifully written, just not what I expected.
