Summary
Trench is a self-educated New York City Central Park Carriage Coachman, whose twin son and daughter feed “Mr. Bo Jangles” slices of “Carrots and Apples". Through unusual interactions, Trench’s relationships with characters from the social elite to the oddest of city denizen; to include a successful businesswoman, emotionally challenged war veteran, rollerblade delivery man and librarian, coincide as he takes a journey amid love, injustice, tragedy, and recovery.
Carrots & Apples reflects the effects of contemporary controversial social norms in a uniquely beautiful poetic style of writing, of imagery and substance, yet synchronously uses raw dialog that exposes the harsh realities of society. While the story encompasses a variety of social attitudes toward dating, romance, friendships, and parenting; the underlying thread that drives the story is the struggle of upright, disenfranchised men and children within a bias, corrupt, custodial legal system, and an indifferent public.
