About this listen
As an ambassador with the Supernatural Regulatory Division, Andy McNeilly is responsible for acting as the Liaison for the Vancouver Vampire horde. The problem? She detests the Vampire Master, and the SRD can't discover the beast she keeps locked inside.
After a menacing demon throws an important vampire event into chaos, Andy finds herself sniffing out crime scenes to identify and locate the mystery fiend from the nether realm. What she learns chills her bones.
Threatened by the Master Vampire to deal with the demon, Andy's complicated personal life doesn't make things easier. She's willing to risk her life and pride to keep loved ones safe. But how can she make a choice that will break one heart…and complete another?

brilliant story!
this is an amazingly detailed story with an ever twisting plot! At first I struggled to get into it as there was much terminology and background info which I didn't understand as I haven't read the first 2 books. So I would strongly recommend reading the books in order.
I love the characters and their interactions.
brilliant story. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series!

Starting at Book 3
This can be listened as a standalone and have been perfectly understood as to what is going on; I feel like I personally would have benefited from starting with book 1 instead of book 3 just because I wanted to know more of the history of our characters. The characters and relationships were clear but we were told of them because they were already established and we didnt get to experience them the way I imagine readers would have in previous books. I feel as though I wasn't as attached to the characters as I would have liked to have been because this was the first book I listened to. The storyline is pretty intense in some spots; I really thought Andy was going to be done for towards the end. I enjoyed the concept of the animal ferras as her way to shift into so many different forms.
The narrator gives a great performance that keeps things interesting. I got a lot more emotion from the story because of the narration than due to an attachment from go the characters. The narrator makes this worth it.

Excellent!
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This is the first book I have listened too by J.C. McKenzie and I thoroughly enjoyed it the only way it could have been better is if I had listened too the previous 2 books first.
Kelsey Navarro did a great job narrating and I will be watching for more books she narrates.
