Post apocalyptic at its finest
What can I say, two of my favourite authors of this genre plus Matthew Crow's brilliant narration. He just adds something to this genre and I just got addicted.
The boy's journey over the three books showed amazing growth. It was good to have all the books in one audio book as you could just carry on and go with the flow.
This was an outstanding contribution to the genre. I was just addicted to find out what happened next. Not for the faint hearted.

Solid apocalyptic fiction
I do love good apocalyptic fiction and this trilogy ticks many of the boxes of what is best about this genre. Expect the usual archetypes that populate this eschatological brand, the tried and true interactions, the standard dialogue of survivors and the no holds barred violence. But what it lacks in originality it makes up for in solid well written prose. It truly absorbs and envelopes allowing you to really connect with the story. Don't be surprised if you finish this audiobook collection quickly.
Crow's narration is wonderful. The rich timbre of his voice and the crystal quality of the recording brings real depth to the various characters portrayed (Papa in book 2 being my personal favourite).
Over all, if you're a fan of post apocalyptic fiction this trilogy is well worth listening to 👍

Not for me
Chose this as it sounded my cup of tea, I stuck with it for 20 chapters. Not very post apocalyptic descriptive, reads more like some bad spaghetti western, I guess that may come later but id struggle to remain awake or interested with the narrators dull tone.
Waste of a credit
