Summary

Why do we find sexuality so, well... scary?

Comedian and co-creator of the hit show Feel Good, Mae Martin, investigates in this hilarious and intelligent guide to 21st century sexuality. By narrating their own, often humiliating, adventures in sex, dating and identity, Mae demystifies everything from weird crushes and coming out, to the pros and cons of labels and the joys of sexual fluidity.

Mae's mission is to ensure that in a world that's full of things to worry about, who we choose to kiss should not be one of them. And when it comes to sexuality, Mae asks:

Just so lovely...I wish it was thrice as long

Mae Martin manages to tell the story of sexuality that is, in most books, heavy and emotionally taxing, but this book is lovingly written with excitement, curiosity, gentleness and the erratic whimsy of...a kernel of corn! Fab. Thank you. More please.

An essential 21st Century Book

This book is firstly so easy to read, it flows so easily that I could happily - and probably will - read this every week.I believe at the heart of a lot of prejudice is simply a lack of understanding. The sooner those who continue to make hurtful comments, realise that there isn't a nasty agenda behind LGBT+ rights, society will be a lot nicer. We need this book to become part of the curriculum, and now!

This should be given out at schools as part of the national curriculum!

Informative, engaging, concise

I found this a really easy and enjoyable listen! It is engaging and informative whilst still being personable and funny. My only criticism was that it felt too short!

Amazing Mae Matin shares her insight

This is a fun listen about some important issues and concepts. The best thing about it is Mae's delivery and persona, which does come through, but she also offers a clear, calm and nuanced introduction to some key LGBTQ+ issues and experiences.
