Really makes you think

I was listening to this on the school run and realised that I was getting angry at little things like traffic, being in a rush, my child having to go back for his gloves, the plants I planted in the school yard borders being dug up… listening to this made me really think about what’s important and about looking after my mental health by just letting it go. Great listening and I like the narrator’s voice too.

Straight to the point

As soon as I saw the title, I thought this would be good for me to read - could give it to others aswell ! but thought I would start with myself. Good ideas to help with the stress side of things which will then in turn, reduce the anger. Sometimes we do not communicate well enough, which then builds within oneself and manifests itself into stress then the anger so am learning to deal with that. Am working through that process which the book explains well. Very easy to listen too. I really like the narrators voice. Worked well. Great to have on my phone as I can refer back to .

Calming; illuminating; fascinating!

Calm Your Anger Now surprised me - with just how much there is to learn about the science of anger, and with the amount of methods available to calm it.

This is a thoroughly-researched and well-presented guide to understanding and dealing with anger in ourselves and, naturally, also in others, and to avoiding the risks of outbursts, anxiety, stress and illness.

An earlier review described this book as repetitive, but I don't think that can be a criticism: some excerpts of facts/advice (e.g. "listen to relaxing music" or similar) feature more than once, but only in different sections of the text. And certain details are bound to be applicable in more than one everyday situation - and, therefore, under more than one book heading, too.

Mine is the Audible version, and I certainly agree with the positive review comments regarding the narration. The tone, volume and pace - reminiscent of a guided meditation - is in itself calming!

Highly recommended.

Good strategies to manage your anger levels

This audiobook is packed with strategies to use to better handle daily scenarios that can lead to you losing your cool. It provides good things to try to combat challenges, plus an understanding of sometimes you are more affected. Also helps that the excellent narration is calming in itself!

A well thought through and practical book

This book really works well because it is created in manageable and practical chapters which are easy to apply in your life immediately even if you haven’t finished the entire thing.
I found that putting on my headphones and listening for twenty minutes a day has had a really positive effect right from the off.
For me, the main positive is simply that it gets to the key issues very quickly and has no waffle or elongated theory but instead allows you to take action right away and learn something new and practical with every chapter.

Incredibly thought provoking…

I’ve listened to one chapter a day, which I’ve found has given me a focus for controlling my behaviour as the week goes on.
A carefully constructed and thought provoking book which has really helped me rationalise some of my emotions.

Great tips!

I received this book for free in exchange for a review. Overall a great read.
I wanted to listen this book to help my family members who have anger management issues. The tips are very easy to follow and do.
I myself never noticed how I quickly get mad at the littlest things, but after listening to this, I now know what to do to keep my anger in check. As the author mentioned, sometimes anger can help you push yourself especially when you have deadlines!
