About this listen
"Dominic was staring at me like he couldn’t decide whether to chop me into pieces or pull my hair and French kiss me."
Dominic
I got her fired. Okay, so I’d had a bad day and took it out on a bystander in a pizza shop. But there’s nothing innocent about Ally Morales. She proves that her first day of her new job in my office, after being hired by my mother.
So, maybe, her colorful, annoying, inexplicably alluring personality brightens up the magazine’s offices that have felt like a prison for the past year. Maybe, I like that she argues with me in front of the editorial staff. And maybe, my after-hours fantasies are haunted by those brown eyes and that sharp tongue.
But that doesn’t mean that I’m going to be the next Russo man to take advantage of his position. I might be a second-generation asshole, but I am not my father. She’s working herself to death at half a dozen dead-end jobs for some secret reason she doesn’t feel like sharing with me. And I’m going to fix it all.
Don’t accuse me of caring. She’s nothing more than a puzzle to be solved. If I can get her to quit, I can finally peel away all those layers. Then I can go back to salvaging the family name and forget all about the dancing, beer-slinging brunette.
Ally
Ha! Hold my beer, Grumpy Grump Face.
Author’s note: A steamy, swoony workplace romantic comedy with a grumpy boss hero determined to save the day and a plucky heroine who is starting to wonder if there might actually be a beating heart just beneath her boss’ sexy vests.

Delicious!
The story was so great! The delicious build up, sexual tension, banter…just perfect. Lucy Score has got me in a head lock and I don’t want to be free!!!
I chose to read most of this book on my kindle rather than listen because I didn’t really like Erin’s male voices. It didn’t really sound anything like Sebastian’s Dominic and I found it quite off putting. Other than that the performances were top notch.

CHEMISTRY!!! 🥵🥵🥵
Loved loved loved this book!!!! It was hilarious at times, soul shattering at others & made my heart happy!!! The spice was about a 🌶️🌶️🌶️ but….. I like a slow burn, love when the tension builds but this went on a little too long!!! Both narrators were amazing, although the FC doing the male characters voice took away from certain situations in my opinion! Overall this was a brilliant audiobook, I got through it in a day! It was an emotional rollercoaster and the mouth on that man at times 🥵🥵🥵

Excellent snark
This leading lady is full of snark and sarcasm. The chemistry between these characters is brilliant. Their story is heartwarming and beautiful. A fantastic performance from both the narrators.

A perfectly well rounded story...
First of all... I was sold on this book with the narrators alone. With this calibre of narration, you know that something special is to ensue...
... And.... I was right!
Perfection... Not just a boy meets girl scenario... This was multi leveled, yet not over complicated. Characters and surroundings were flawlessly described. Thoroughly enjoyed listening!

Absolutely Hilarious!!!
Cannot recommend this enough. This book was so funny, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. If there is not a movie adaption of this in the works, something is broken with the world.
The Devil Wears Prada meets How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
Dominic is having a tough time getting out of the evil shadow his father cast in his mothers fashion magazine, so much in fact, he takes all his anger out on Ally Morales, the server in the pizza shop where he went to have lunch with his mother. In short, he gets her fired. Ally is a hot mess, her fathers health is failing, his care is expensive... and Shes broke. Happy times on her horizon are severely limited. Losing her third job was the last thing she needed, but that colorfully decorated pizza inspires Dominic's mother to hire her, to teach her son a lesson. This good fortune means she can stop working herself to death at half a dozen dead-end jobs, but as much as things are now starting to go right... Dominic Russo is slowly going crazy with lust over the hot mess that is the mysterious Ally Morales.. and his mother has made it impossible for him to fire her, and she refuses to quit so he's left under extreme sexy stress given that Label Magazine has a strict no fraternizing policy because of his fathers previous misconduct. Their bickering foreplay is driving the poor guy nuts, and its HILARIOUS... he kidnaps his best friends wife so he can crash Ally's date with another man.
"You showed up on my date. You showed up at the club. You say you don't want to want me, yet it was your idea to get to know each other better. You wear vests just to mess with me. Then you tell me to quit the job that I desperately need so you can feel better about wanting to f*ck me."
His behavior becomes increasingly more obsessive and protective which reaches boiling point when she turns to stripping in her best friends Night Club to finance her dads treatment and he orders a private dance.
I honestly love when Sebastian takes on narrations like this (first heard him in Tangled by Emma Chase and it had similar office rivalry & romance) and Erin helped you feel how utterly helpless and conflicted Ally's character was watching her father struggle with his illness.
5 Stars!

Loved this!
This was my first Lucy Score book and it won’t be my last! I really enjoyed the storyline and how the relationship between Dom and Ally developed. The narrators were also exceptionally good - Erin Mallon in particular. I’m now off to download my next Lucy Score novel!
