Summary

Burning down the house....

Things are not going well at the offices of Private Eye. Jinx is having demon problems, the city is overrun with pyromaniacal imps, and Ivy's wisp powers are burning out of control, attracting the attention of both the Seelie and Unseelie courts.

Along came a faerie queen.... It's the worst possible time for the Green Lady to call in a favor, but Ivy's bound by her deal with the glaistig. Too bad there's no wiggle room in faerie bargains.

Ivy must rid the city of imps, keep Jinx from murdering her one solid link to Hell, and fulfill her bargain with the Green Lady - with sidhe assassins hot on her tail.

Just another day's work for Ivy Granger, psychic detective.

Burning Bright: Ivy Granger ,Psychic Detective

Ok so maybe Ivy Granger is not having the best of weeks.Remember The Green Lady? Well she is calling the favor Ivy owes. Ivy's bound by her deal with The Glaistig and can not refuse and the more she procrastinates the worse its going too get.If you guys remember the deal then you will also remember that Ivy had no real choice and no time to negotiate or utter disaster would have stuck.Jinx is having ...lets say issues with Forneus. And there are utterly crazy Imps running around setting fires to anything and everything.Ivy needs to find out what they want and where on Earth,or other places, they are coming from if she has any chance to save her home and Its residents both Sidhe and human.Oh and did I mention the assassins?Ivy is not with out allies and friends though .Will their help be enough to get them all through this alive? You will see sacrifice, comedy,Lore and wonder in this tale and these books are just getting better and better.Oh and a new fantastical scamp of a character,Sparky.really Ivy should know better than to name things.
I liked the dual narration that along with the story was extremely original and clever in that it delivered a genuine voyage of discovery. I think this one is very enjoyable and I was left with more of the the same sense of wonder and it had the same "page-turning" qualities. As the previous books in the series.
It is a clever book that gets you rooting for our heroine and her crew and slightly sympathizing with same of the "bad guys". This book covers issues of morality, decency, survival and has probably one of the most unique treatments of the age-old battle of the "good" and "evil" I have ever read But when dealing with the Sidhe nothing is really black and white at a glance.I love it when Jenna makes an appearance in these books and hope that the Guild hunters series by E.J Stevens is released in audio format soon
