Summary

A number one Amazon best seller in thriller and suspense action fiction!

Jackson has two passions: fighting fires and Blaire. One love is deadly and unpredictable while the other is sweet and innocent. Except, Blair has a past that is far from innocent, and it is catching up to her in ways she never expected. Even worse, Jackson’s heroin-addicted brother threatens to destroy their relationship more than any fire ever could.

Fighting fires is something Jackson knows how to handle - he has trained for it and can face down any threat with a clear head. Opening himself up and being vulnerable in a relationship is another matter entirely, and he isn’t sure how to be totally honest with Blaire about his own rough childhood. When Blaire narrowly escapes a fire, hard choices must be made. Jackson must choose between his family alliances or lose the only woman he has ever loved.

Enjoyable!

Burned is a great start to the Scorching Heat series. There aren't many books about hot firefighters, so this one definitely grabbed my attention from the get-go. The storyline was entertaining, sweet, with charming characters. Dan Viensk did an excellent job with the narration, capturing the characters' personalities, bringing them to life. Overall, Burn was an enjoyable listen, one I'll recommend. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Sickly Sweet

The story is based on the romance between Jackson and Blaire which was so sickly sweet and corny it had me rolling my eyes. Jackson and Blaire are highly insecure and both repeatedly, at various different times in the book will say "I've done X" or "if I don't do or say X" he or she won't love me anymore. The author also constantly repeats that fire fighters and EMT are superhero's....yes we know this, you don't have to keep telling us all the time. For me it was a struggle to get through, I didn't enjoy it. The narrator however did a great job with this audible book.
