About this listen

The demon Lucrecia accompanies her mistress to a remote castle to evaluate a powerful duke. He is suspected of dark magic and may be plotting to steal his brother’s throne. Lucy is shocked to discover that the duke has hired her erstwhile lover, the sorcerer Jacob, to vouch for his purity. Both Lucy and Jacob have agendas of their own at the duke's castle. They may need to put past quarrels aside if they want to leave alive.

Burn is a prequel novella for The Incubus series. You can enjoy this story even if you haven’t listened to the novels. This series has plenty of heart and lots of steam. Adults only!

Very intriguing quick listen

I loved this intriguing quick prequel to the Incubus series. There are sorcerers, magicians, and humans, along with an alien evil. There are secrets, trust issues, some mystery, and suspense. There is plenty of sexual tension between two characters and some actual sexy times. There are still plenty of questions I would still like to have answered about the world and these characters, at least some of which I hope will be answered in the rest of the series.

The narration was excellent, well paced, and suited to the emotions and events of the story.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook through the author and have voluntarily left this honest review.
