About this listen
From best-selling author Xavier Neal comes an all-new, witty, forced-proximity romantic suspense stand-alone novel....
The assignment is simple.
Don't let the client die.
Don't let her get kidnapped.
Don't sleep with her.
It's the last part that unexpectedly complicates things for me after I'm introduced to the most beautiful and brilliant woman I could've ever envisioned.
And it only gets worse when we have to stash ourselves away in a small town where our calculated cover is to be a recently engaged couple.
My new mission is now significantly harder.
Don't let her hate what's for dinner.
Don't let anyone else make her laugh more than I do.
And, most importantly, don't let myself actually fall for someone again.
After all, my job isn't to love my boss' sister.
It's to stop an unidentified threat from taking her - or die trying.

New romantic suspense!!
Give me a good romantic suspense and I am a happy person! This is my first book by Xavier Neal, and it won't be my last. We meet Bronx. He is given a mission. Keep the brilliant Blake safe and away from kidnappers. But most of all, don't sleep with her. Bronx is an alpha male, and his protective instinct for this woman kicks in immediately. He doesn't realize who he is dealing with! Blake is quite the woman! I love her! Smart, creating cutting edge information, she is a prime target. And though she is brainy, she has quite the wit. She doesn't want this craziness but will take the bodyguard since her brother is insisting. Will Bronx be able to keep her safe? Will the two be able to keep their attraction at bay? Witty banter, thrilling suspense, and a couple we can't help but love, this is a fun listen!! I will be looking for more by Neal!
Lacy Laurel and Alan Carlson are a great team. I love both of these narrators and were excited to see them working together. Laurel is wonderful playing strong women, and her portrayal of Blake is spot on! Carlson gives us the manly Bronx with his commanding tone. I enjoyed this listen!

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧Enjoyable & Riveting!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is my first written by Xavier Neal and it certainly will not be my last, she has an impressive writing skills, she created an interesting and original story that immediately grabbed my attention and captivated it straight to the end. The characters are likable, easy to relate to and connect with. Bronx Bradford is a bad ass bodyguard, how could he not be since he shares the same name as the best borough in NYC, he takes his job seriously and does what he has to do to protect his client. His boss offers him a special assignment, a dangerous one, but one that will set him up for life, an offer he can not refuse. It turns out the client is his boss’ sister, Dr. Blake Rothwell, a genius with several PhDs under her belt and is working on top secret projects, projects that put a target on her head. Her brother wanted to put a security team on her, but she refused that idea, but agreed to one bodyguard, not expecting a hunk of a guy. She and her new bodyguard have to go off the grid after an attempt on her life, the two get to know each other better, Bronx gets her, the way she thinks and all her quirks and eccentricities and he falls for her and she for him. This is a fantastic romantic suspense, I loved the witty dialogue between the two lead characters and how the story played out, it is a fast-moving story that contains a perfect balance of drama, action, thrilling and suspenseful moments, a touch of angst, some heartfelt and emotional moments and a steamy romance. Xavier Neal, thank you for this greatly entertaining and enjoyable story, I am looking forward to checking out more of your work.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Lacy Laurel and Alan Carlson are the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the character to sound. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. They set the perfect tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue with ease, never missing a beat. Thank you for the wonderfully entertaining listen.

Blake and Bronx!
Blake is brilliant when it comes to the ground-breaking inventions she creates for her job however as a result it has caused her life skills to fall behind. When she finds herself in danger her brother arranges for Blake to protect her.
Bronx has shown that he will guard his clients with his life while keeping the relationship strictly professional. When it comes to Blake it soon becomes apparent that the first applies however the second will not and that is when the fun really begins.
Bronx and Blake are perfect together as he appreciates her just the way she is as they take us on a steamy and suspenseful ride. The performances of the narrators were great as they brought out the quirkiness of Blake and the alpha protector in Bronx. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Blake & Bronx
Xavier, it seems that every book I read by you, you up the ante and just capture me in a different way. I thought The Gamble was my fav but freaaaakkkkkk Bulletproof is now my fav by you !!!!
Blake, ugh this character speaks to me the most. She is freaking intelligent, not just smart, intelligent. And her twin brother wants to make sure she is safe. But in his attempt to do so, he doesn’t realize that he gives her the one thing she has needed.
Bronx, tasked with a job that would be life or death to him. If he lets anything happen to the target, he could just say sayonara and won’t even get to take pleasure in the reward for handling his task.
I absolutely loved reading their relationship build through the book. Blake was such a relatable character for me, I loved her so. Xavier really does her research when writing her books, and you can tell by how detailed and accurate she is. And that epilogue was everything to me.
Recommended for those that like steamy forbidden romances between the bodyguard and his guard.
Lacy Laurel!!!! One of my favorite female narrators was the perfect Blake for me. Alan Carlson was a smexy Bronx. Combine the two and they took this book up a notch!!

Perfect amount of suspense and romance
Full of suspense, romance, and a drool-worthy hero, Bulletproof is a story not to miss. I was hooked from the first chapter and I could not stop listening until the end. I loved the instant connection between Bronx and Blake. Having a relationship was taboo and that made their chemistry even hotter. The suspense was just the right amount to keep me on my seat. this was my first story from Xavier Neal, and I want more!
Lacy Laurel and Alan Carlson are a great narrating team. They have complimenting voices so that the story flows smoothly. I was able to get lost in the narration and it became like a movie in my mind. I hope to hear a lot more of this narrating pair.

My Thoughts on Bulletproof
This was an introduction to a new author that will absolutely have me interested in trying more by them in future. It had a good flow that kept my attention from start to finish. And both main characters were very likable. I loved the brainy leady lady with the levelheaded bodyguard and the way they connected instantly on not just a physical level but balanced each other perfectly on so many levels. They were really fun when they were bantering back and forth. And even in the steamy moments this author had a unique way with words and phrasing that was very interesting to me. The narrators for this one both did a great job. Lacy Laurel, who I’ve loved for a while in plenty of other audiobooks before this one, is one of the reasons I wanted to give this book a try. Alan Carlson on the other hand is one that while I may not love his female tone, him reading the lead kind of outweighed or at least had me looking past his female tones since this was written with dual P.O.V chapters and Lacy Laurel read the female chapters. Overall, this was a really good book and one I would recommend to other romantic suspense and/or forbidden romance fans.

Good Listen
Bronx has never had trouble keeping his hands off a female client until Blake. The minute he sees her, he knows that she is different and will do anything to protect her. The threat is serious and they go off the grid and then business turns into more. This steamy couple gives you everything you can want and more.
