About this listen

Never trust a campus god.

Knight Reed is a devil heir with a chip on his shoulder. The arrogant a-hole I love to hate.

His name may be Knight, but that armor is black as coal. He’s a beautiful god with a wicked heart. I know because my mom used to work for his family. An act of brutal violence in the woods and he gets my mom fired, ultimately leaving us homeless. That was the last time I saw him face-to-face.

At least, until recently.

He’s frat boy royalty at my new university, a campus god amongst the rich and elite. There’s little interest in a freshman like me.

But then I cross him, putting an end to me being invisible here in his world.

At a party, I see something I shouldn’t have seen. Now, suddenly, the campus god has me tackled on a bed with his hand around my throat. He tells me to forget what I witnessed. Do that or the end result will be bad for me. He’s hell-bent on crushing my little dove wings, and all I see is that cruel boy from the woods that day.

When it comes to Knight, I can’t seem to stay out of his way or keep my trap shut around him, no matter how hard I try. He tells me my little mouth will get me in trouble, but I think he’s wrong.

I’m not afraid what will happen if I spill his secrets. What terrifies me is how badly I want to see what might be beyond all that coal-black armor.... It’s possible that, to some small measure, I’m tempted to give in to the only devil I’ve ever known.

The dark knight himself.

Dark bully romance

rutal Heir is the first of Court university series and the first spin off from the original Court Legacy series. I haven't read this book so experiencing it for the first time as an audiobook was incredible. The audio narrators were perfectly chosen to portray the main characters as they beautifully managed to hook me in and bring the story to life.

Greer is the main FMC and I really enjoyed the twists the writer through in about her, especially where she already knew Knight in the past. I also really enjoyed the whole character and the storyline behind her.

Knight is the typical bad boy character that I can't help but fall in love with, his cruel to be kind attitude grated on me slightly. I mean he does some awful things as he lets his paranoia rule his thoughts and control his actions. He's so terribly afraid of Greer saying something that he really is one of the most cruel MC's I've ever read.

I really enjoyed the way the plot was structured, Brutal Heir is an amazing book full of angst, steamy angry sex, the drama and so many twists and turns it will leave you dizzy and emotional. I also really enjoyed the dual pov storyline so that we had a chance to get inside both of the characters heads and with the audio narrators it was even better.

This is a dark bully romance so if you don't like the MC bullying the FMC sometimes beyond things you'd agree is ok but with a hig redemption arc then I wouldn't recommend it. But if that last sentence has you intrigued then pick up this book today and I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Needed a touch more grovel

I could hardly put this down. As my first book from this author, I don't think I could have found a better way to kick off. The plot was pretty intense and certainly gripped me. It had plenty of tension and atmosphere. However the conflict or the reaction to the conflict facilitated next to zero grovel. And I need some grovel. I certainly am interested in this Court world and will be doing a deep dive at my earliest convenience.

Falling in love all over again

Brutal Heir was my first Eden O’Neill book and I think I’ve fallen in love all over again.
The audio just adds something to it!
Kingpin is the second book in the Court series. It can be read as a stand-alone but they’re SO good you’ll want them all!! This book is sexy AF, it has the perfect amount of angst and sexual tension between the MCs.
LJ starts of as the guy you hate, he’s cocky, arrogant and he doesn’t give a damn. Billie is settled, she has a boyfriend, her studies and her new TA position.....then she meets LJ.
To say her smooth sailing life is sent in a spin is an understatement.
I love the fact that Billie is the TA and LJ the cocky student, The fact that his loyalty to his family and brothers beats everything. I love that nothing for the main characters is easy.
This book has some twists that you just don’t see coming. It ticks all the boxes. And the narrators have done a brilliant job bringing it to life.
