Another Catherine Cowles jewel
Cope is a successful hockey player that has been haunted for almost 2 decades by the death of his brother and father. Sutton has spent the better part of a decade dodging shadows of her past. As they find comfort and safety in each other a beautiful romance blooms.

Catherine Cowles has smashed it again…
I feel like I say this with every Catherine Cowles book, but honestly, it’s so true. This is by far my fave read from her.
Her writing, her stories, her characters, the worlds she creates only get better and better with every new release.
This one was an emotional read for me. I was listening to the audiobook as well as reading along on my kindle, so that probably made it even more emotional for me. Erin Mallon and Conor Crais did a wonderful job of bringing the characters of Sutton and Cope to life. I could listen to their voices all day.
Of course this wouldn’t be a Catherine Cowles story without the suspense. Another fantastic read with all the twists and turns. Really kept me hooked the whole way through.
And the fact that Cope is a hockey player😍👏🏼
If you haven’t already read any of Catherine’s books, but you are a fan of romantic suspense, I HIGHLY recommend picking up some of her books. It doesn’t matter what you decide to read first, but I highly recommend starting with the first book in any of her series’s.
I can’t wait for the next one.

One of my favorites!
Catherine Cowles stories always make me feel like coming home. She is one of those authors that just give me that wonderful feeling as I listen to her books. This is the third book in the Sparrow Falls series and has the perfect mix of love and suspense, both things I absolutely enjoy the most. Sutton and her son, Luca have landed in Sparrow Falls, putting down roots and Sutton has opened her dream bakery. Getting away from her toxic ex-husband was key and now she is trying to make a go of things. Cope has come home during the off season to work with a kids hockey camp. Issues with his temper and team members has him needing a break to evaluate his life. Seeing Sutton at the camp as she drops off Luca has caught his eye! As their friendship grows and she finds herself in need of a place to stay, Cope takes the two in. But will she be able to keep the walls around her heart? Will he be able to protect her from himself and the danger that comes to her? This is a fantastic romance as the slow burn ignites. Luca is the star of the show as he idolizes Cope and learns the sport he loves. And Sutton is a sweet woman, not only as she bakes, but her heart is gold. I loved this story, the suspense thread that is weaved through, the Colson family as they come together and the way love finds a home.
Connor Crais and Erin Mallon are fantastic! I know everyone knows that, but the magic comes through their characters with voices matching the story perfectly. Crais is full of heart, knows his heart and works through Copes issues with his warm voice. When he is with Sutton, his voice it like a hug! Mallon is so good as Sutton. This woman has so much on her plate, and Mallon uses the voice of the ambitious baker, the mom who wants to be there for her son, the fearful ex, and the loving woman. These two are fabulous and made this listen a pleasure to hear.

Outstanding Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Moving!
It is great to be back in Catherine Cowles’ “Sparrow Falls” world again, one of my favorite places to visit and spend time in, actually every world she has created have been my favorite places to spend time in, each one just as amazing as the next. Books that are escapism at its best and what makes them so special, the wonderful writing and the fabulous characters and storylines. This series follows the Colson siblings and this third book of the series is Cope and Sutton’s story and wow, what a story it is, a romantic suspense like no other and one that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. Sutton, a single mom of an adorable son, Luca, escaped from a terrible situation and moved to Sparrow Falls to start over, and opens and runs her own bakery, living in the apartment above. It has been a struggle, and having a greedy landlord does not help matters, but she has made some good friends with some of the townsfolk, including the Colsons, who have her back. Cope, a professional hockey player for the Seattle Sparks, is on a break from the team and volunteers to work with the kids at hockey camp in Sparrow Falls. Sutton rather have had Luca playing another sport, but playing hockey excited Luca and it thrilled him even more that the Reaper, Cope, was coaching them. Something drew Cope to Sutton the moment his eyes landed on her, and he also took a special interest in her son, who had potential on the ice, too. I loved watching these two get to know each other, fight off their attraction to one another, two complex characters with interesting and heartbreaking back stories, ones that left them broken. I also loved all the layers of the story and how it all plays out, with the perfect balance of drama, angst, thought-provoking suspense that keep you on your toes, heartfelt emotions, and a steamy romance. Catherine Cowles, thank you for another exceptional story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧Catherine Cowles always casts the perfect narrators to bring her characters to life, and Connor Crais and Erin Mallon are just that, perfect, and so much more, delivering an exceptional performance and superb character voices, ones that are fitting and a delight to listen to. Mallon absolutely nailed it as Sutton, grasping every aspect of her personality, her fierceness and determination and Crais does the same as Cope, also showcasing his personality, from his protective side to his hotheadedness to his vulnerabilities which he hides from the world. Both are fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters and are just as amazing in those roles, including an adorable child's voice for Luca, which Mallon does so well. These two make a great team, with voices and talent that complement each other and setting a pace and tone that is just right for the story. You could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they capture all the characters’ emotions and have you feeling each one. These entertaining storytellers are simply the best.

Beautifully Swoony Romance!
“𝙄 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪. 𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙚. 𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨. 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙡𝙡.”
The thing I love about Catherine is the way she has mastered a formula for her addictive stories. She has built this captivating anticipation that gives an outline of what to expect. At the same time, she doesn’t giving you anything while keeping you on your toes and the edge of your seat in suspense.
Single moms are my jam. It’s something just so special about them. I love the incomparable strength, the fierce protectiveness, their heart, their warmth and the unwavering love and support. Sutton embodied all of this and more. I truly adored her. Luca was just the sweetest little thing. His infectious joy and enthusiasm kept a smile on my face.
Cope Colson may just be THEE swooniest man Catherine Cowles has written!! This man, this man, this man yall! I’m not talking book boyfriend, I’m talking book husband!! Like excuse me, where can I find my very own Cope!? From researching to buy the right booster for Luca to purchasing a home that would fit all of his family. This man was so incredibly thoughtful and would give his last for those he loved. He found his heart stolen by not only the gorgeous single mom but her precious son. The bond he formed with Luca, oh be still my heart, it was melted to pieces at the preciousness.
The found family that warmed my soul. The way the Colsons just enveloped Sutton and Luca with their love without a single thought.
The sizzling chemistry for days. That desk scene…”grip the chains.” Catherine had that spice spicing just the way I like it. The heart stopping gestures. Without even trying, through their undeniably seamless connection and a love like neither of them saw coming, Cope and Sutton healed each other. It was a beautiful thing to witness.
Per usual, as Catherine left me swooning, she simultaneously had me guessing left and right on who the mystery bad guy was. But, the extra twist she threw my way was one I didn’t see coming!
Catherine wrote a love story that delivered all the emotions and feels. Erin Mallon and Connor Crais took those feelings and magnified them with their flawless performance. This audio brillance was the perfect complement to this amazing story.
“𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙪𝙨 𝙖 𝙨𝙖𝙛𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙. 𝘼 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙤𝙧 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙢.”

Amazing book
Oh wow what a beautiful and heartbreaking and heartwarming story. I loved the way these two special characters came together. A beautiful child blossomed under Cope’s guidance, and love. Not only do we see the other characters and their storylines progressing but the possibilities for new connections in the future books. Lolli is still a scream and I laugh every time she’s in a scene. With each book this author gives us new characters and wonderfully diverse and unique plots and locations. But with each book she keeps you hooked from the beginning of a series to the very end. The warmth, love, and family connections are so special the book hangovers are real. The narration as always was superb. In my opinion they completely transform the story and bring it alive in a way just reading can’t. Well done on another fabulous book.

Love this family 💕
I feel like I’ve highlighted almost every BookBub description, which speaks to the quality of Broken Harbor.
This book provided exactly what I didn’t know I needed this week. Connor and Erin made my daily commute much more enjoyable, and I was truly invested in Cope and Sutton’s story—I didn’t want it to end.
Cope is a genuinely good guy, and the friendship and compassion he shares with Sutton and Luca are so sweet. It’s easy to see why they have such strong bonds.
That twist was unexpected and added an intriguing element to the story.
I’m looking forward to more from Sparrow Falls!
💕fave quotes💕
Jesus. That mom needed one of Lolli’s pot brownies. Stat.—-poor Daniel! His mom could definitely use one 😜
“If you haven’t realized it yet, you’re an honorary Colson. If anything happens, good or bad, we show up en masse.”—-hands down best feeling in the book…well almost lol but this family is #goals

mediocre at best
after I've read several books from this author I'm convinced she is one of the most overrated, over hyped romantic suspense writer. I had the feeling this story was just trying to pretend it's something more than what it is. it's not terrible but it's nothing more than a puddle deep, mediocre story with pretentious and performative romance packaged nicely.
