About this listen
1940, World War II. The Nazis have crushed Europe, and Hitler launches a massive aerial assault with the Luftwaffe against the heavily outnumbered British RAF. The fate of civilization teeters in the balance.
Johnnie Shaux, a Spitfire fighter pilot, must summon up the fortitude to fly into a battle where death is all but inevitable, and continue to do so until the inevitable occurs....
Eleanor Rand, a brilliant fighter command mathematician, studies the control room map constantly tracking the ebbs and flows of the conflict, and sees the glimmerings of a radical breakthrough....
Breaking Point is based on actual events in the Battle of Britain. Written with a penetrating historical accuracy of World War II and breathtaking speed, Breaking Point puts you inside the cockpit as the pilots duel to the death, inside RAF headquarters as the commanders makes their decisions, and inside the lives of young men and women facing one of the great crises in modern history.

Excellent story, only slightly marred by some production issues
I very much enjoyed this book, and I look forward to seeing the characters develop in the sequels.
It will appeal to anyone who’s interested in the systems and strategy behind the scene of the world’s first battle where technology off the battlefield played a crucial role. The author clearly has a deep understanding of his subject matter.
Another review comments on the audio quality. There are certainly a number of production issues where edits have been made at a later date, and at times the audio is echoey. However I didn’t find this detracted from my enjoyment of the book, and it does improve after the first few chapters.

RUINED BY VOICE OVER
what a shame. was looking forward to this. Its totally spoiled by the audio and given its an audiobook that's a BIG problem.
the voice over sounds like it was recorded on a compact cassette in a cupboard! it's atrocious.
Best avoided. damn shame. Needs re recording in a sound studio and likely a different voice over artist.
