Summary
She’s my best friend’s kid sister. Now, she’s not a kid any more.
As a forest ranger, I believe in the simple life. I prefer cabins to apartments, trails over freeways, and trees to people. My life is orderly, predictable, and quiet. Until it’s hit by a woman I never saw coming—Hurricane June.
She’s fierce. She’s feisty. She has a laugh like the first day of spring, and she’s so pretty that I can’t breathe when I look at her. June will only be in town for a few months—just while job-hunting. She won’t last until winter, but how can I resist?
Except I have to. She’s my best, oldest, and most loyal friend’s baby sister. Betraying him would be the worst thing I’ve ever done. Not betraying him might be the hardest. Especially once we start working together on a secret project. All this spending time together, sneaking around at night, and lying to her brother about what we’re doing sure feels like more than friendship.
June might break my heart. Her brother might break my nose. But I guess some things were made to be broken.
Break the Rules is a steamy, stand-alone romantic comedy.

A Delightfully Wonderful Story & Listen🎧
This is my first “Loveless Brothers” book, and I loved everything about it, from Roxie Noir’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfect cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. The story is original with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. . The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they were easy to care about too. Levi Lawless is a US Forest Ranger, he is on the quirky side, set in his own ways and marches to his own beat. He is in love with nature and is protective of it and takes his job seriously. When someone messes with the trees, they are messing with him. June, a journalist, who is looking for a full-time job, she has put her resume out to newspapers across the US, hoping to get picked up by one of them. She was driving home after meeting her brother, Silas, for a run in the forest when she gets caught in a storm and a fallen tree blocks her way and causes power lines to fall across her car, making for a dangerous situation. She was stuck in her car with no cell signal, luckily a forest ranger pulls up and to rescue her, not so lucky that it turned out to be the last one she wanted to see, the one she has a crush on and her brother’s friend, Levi. Levi rescues her and brings her back to his home until the storm blows over. I just loved these two together, the chemistry between them was undeniable and absolutely electric, plus they were perfect for each other, their smart and caring demeanor just worked. Levi no longer saw her as her best friend’s younger sister, and they could only deny each other for so long. But he figured he could have her while she was there because he knew she would leave for a job out of state. The last thing he expected was to fall in love and it was the same for June, but she has a career to restart. This beautifully plotted story has a perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt emotions, some steamy romance with a side of mystery and crime solving that adds to the drama. Roxie Noir, thank you for this enjoyable and entertaining story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Tor Thom and Monica King are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit the character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Monica King nailed it as June, grasped her wit and as well as her confidence, Tor Thom nailed it as Levi as well, perfectly grasping his demeanor and they were great at performing the roles of the secondary characters too. Both handled the witty dialogue with ease and landed the humor effortlessly. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance and had you feeling every single one. The two entertaining storytellers were a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another wonderful listen.
