Summary
This time, is an EMP only the first strike?
With a credible threat to the United States and a plane stuck on the tarmac, Grant Walton is 30 seconds from full-blown panic mode. He's the only one in the airport who knows the truth. When the power goes out, he can't waste another second. It's the beginning of the end and every man for himself.
A nuclear attack will rip the country apart.
Leah Walton is wrapping up a 12-hour shift as a nurse in the heart of the city. When the power goes out, the hospital operates on crisis mode. She can't stop to breathe, let alone check her messages. When she finally listens to her husband's frantic calls, she's faced with an impossible choice: leave or die trying.
Could you drop everything to save yourself?
Grant and Leah race the clock to find each other before the United States is plunged into chaos. When the bombs fall, their worst fears come true. Can Grant make it home in time to find his wife? Will Leah escape the brunt of the blast?
The EMP is only the beginning.
Brace for Impact is book one in Nuclear Survival: Southern Grit, a post-apocalyptic thriller series following ordinary people struggling to survive after a nuclear attack plunges the nation into chaos.

The Humanity
Loved the gentle way the story unfolded, but still full of drama and nervous anxiety.

Exciting story
This is a great story, takes you from before the EMP. It’s a bit different but I love it, can’t wait to start the next in the series! Brilliant narration; especially the female narrator.

Great Start to the Saga
Interesting topical storyline. I am motivated to hear the next installment to this story. The characters interlinked story is appealing to continue.

Surprisingly good
I thought I would try this as I like this theme, and it was free. It was good, reasonably fast paced and had all the promise of a thriller/ espionage book.
I listened to the next two and whilst they were perfectly listenable, they forgot about some good characters and the books ended up being quite average, predictable and unrealistic.
But if you want a good story to have in the background whilst doing something else, then it’s for you, and it’s free so nothing to lose!

really good story, but not really a trilogy, it's 1 big book and I'd prefer it that way.

Frustraiting
Well. I made it till chapter 6 (second part).
Now. What's good in this book. The story is 8 out of 10. The characters are ruined by wide spread intension to "DELIVER THE MESSAGE". And the most frustrating part of this book is narration. Man... When that women starts it's part - I just clunch my teeth and holding on.

Good narration, Pretty boring in my perspective I didn’t felt that I learned anything.
To much repetition abbot the facts about what happens after nuclear bomb attack.
First one person tails another about the effects of the bombs, then another tell us another person about the effect of of the bombs.
