About this listen
Being sentenced by a woman in a black robe is not a meet-cute. Quinn Jeffries follows the rules. A judge in small-town Sinful, Montana, doesn’t have much room for missteps, and when you spend your childhood training for the Olympics, you don’t have time for anything but discipline anyway. And, see? It’s worked! Her life is just fine. Of course, it doesn’t include any romance, but her new six-first-dates plan could fix that. She just has to be feminine and beguiling, or maybe marginally less take-charge. Too bad she doesn’t know how.
Beckett Hughes has a few problems, too, but nothing he can’t fix. Yes, he’s an Aussie in small-town Montana, and his kids don’t understand why he’s moved them halfway around the world, but he can do this. He has to. He isn’t counting on rescuing a useless monkey-faced dog from a rubbish bag or on making one of the stupidest decisions of his life bang in front of a cop and ending up standing before a judge he last saw in her swim costume. He doesn’t need any of this. Except that it seems he does.
How do you drag a woman into sin when she doesn’t even recognize the destination?

Looking for a great read? Give the book a chance.
If you are looking for a great read, that is all about life, the fun the laughter, the up’s and down’s, the hard work and the sadness, this book, as with all her books is a great listen.
This is my first audio book since Harry Potter, over a decade ago. I’d actually already read the book because Rosalind is my favourite author. To start with I struggled with the readers accent and thought she read it too slowly. But thought I’d persevere, but it was only a chapter in and I was already so immersed in a book that I’d already read, that somehow I forgot all about that. I actually laughed out loud, which I’ve never done to a book. The heroine, Quinn, is a take charge, confident and direct woman who likes her comfy Fruit of the Loom basic undies! Whilst at the same time she’s confused, misses social cues, and is insecure like the rest of us. But boy does she do indignant well! She’s full of attitude, ballsy, confident and the way it’s read adds extra that the written book doesn’t have. I found the expression of sadness, joy, laughter and exasperation all comes through so fantastically on the audio. I loved the expression of the orator, she actually adds to the book. The washing of the dog, the Chug ( a pug x chihuahuas) that’s rolled in something that died, was so funny I could so clearly picture the chaos. I should have counted the number of times, the hero, Beckett calls someone a wanker! Succinct and to the point he would say in that bloody dry Aussie way that he has. A widower suspected of killing his wife which leads to some suspense at the end of the book, Which I enjoyed and only adds to the depth of the book. And ‘bloody hell’ as Beckett would say , the sex scenes, someone saying that in your ear, wow, worth listening to just for that!
I saw on FB that they were looking for someone to review the audio book in the UK, having loved everything this author has written, I said I was happy to do it. And yes, I got a free copy, BUT this review is mine, in my own words and it’s honest. So buy the book- give it a try. I cannot see how anyone would object to listening to this book, it’s got a little bit of everything. If you’ve not read any before I hope I make a convert out of you.
