Summary
Ricky
My double life is crumbling around me. Denying who I am isn’t fair on anyone: the girls I tried so hard to date, the guys I’m too afraid to flirt with, or my family who don’t know the truth. I’m afraid of coming out to my mom - but if I don’t, I’ll remain in fear that she’ll find out from someone else. I’m torn between expectation and truth, and I’m not sure I can keep hiding behind a cocky grin.
I’m not ready for the gorgeous guy who challenges me in my own diner. His every word turns me on, and I’m drawn to him like a moth to flame, but if I get so close that anyone finds out, we’re both going to end up burned.
Cedar
I’m too clumsy to hold onto anything good. Everything I touch breaks, and now I’m dependent on my ex’s good graces. He runs our urban gardening charity, and his dad pays my rent. I do the dirty work, which is all I’m good for: I dig holes and plant seeds. Standing up for myself feels impossible, so I start easy. At least, it was supposed to be.
The cocky cook who couldn’t crisp up my bacon sure crisped up my sausage. Everyone knows closeted guys are a risk, and I’m great at scaring people away. But Ricky gives me the strength to be me, and I can’t stop falling for him. Not even chipped Brooklyn sidewalks can stop true love blooming.
Boiling Point is book three in the Brooklyn Boys series, where good men find their happily ever afters in a hectic metropolis. It has an HEA and no cliffhanger. There will be awkward first times, cops at the door, hiding in thrift store racks, a trouble-making bouquet, a mama’s boy coming home, and an uncontrolled flame.

Boiling Point - best of the series
I really liked this story, and as always, Nick did an amazing job of narrating it. E. Davies is becoming one of my go-to authors.

Two special men
I love books where I learn something. In the synopsis, Cedar says he’s clumsy. Well, there’s a reason for that. He has ataxic cerebral palsy. Of course I’ve heard of cerebral palsy, but only more common types. Types that are more serious. Not to say ataxic isn’t serious – but Cedar is able to pass as someone who is clumsy. Sure cops accuse him of being drunk because of his lack of coordination and sure his ex-boyfriend would make fun of him, but he could pass. Then he meets Ricky and its no longer enough to pass. He’s willing to put himself on the line – to share who he really is.
Ricky has been in previous Brooklyn Boys books so I wasn’t surprised to see him finally get his own story. He almost hooked up with someone else but I liked how he was able to realize he wasn’t ready. And maybe he would have stayed not ready if not for Cedar. And the limp bacon incident.
This book brought me joy. There was a little more angst than the previous two books, but not by much. Cedar’s ex is a piece of work, and I wondered how that plotline was going to resolve itself. I needn’t have worried. In the end, the men got their happy ending.
To round out, I’ll say Nick J. Russo’s narration for the books was great. He suited the stories and I was a series I thoroughly enjoyed.

Ricky's story
Another excellent addition to this series. This time it was Ricky, the apparently straight line cook at Bubbles, and his turn to find himself, his truth and love. I adored the romance and the inclusion of all the previous guys. Why not 5 stars for story? The addition of the embezzlement plot twist was telegraphed way to obviously and even as he sat in those meetings with the accountant from the beginning I was annoyed with Cedar for not taking his role seriously.
Another excellent job on the narration.

as good as the ebook
The story is always 4-5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. Nick J Russo is one of the top 5 narrators for me, I can listen without break and have no problems to follow.
I'm just not yet finish with the book, just over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

A great addition
I liked this story a lot! Like the others in the series the characters were fun, creative and endearing. We got to learn so much about them, see their connection build, their chemistry spark and fall in love throughout the story. The plot was excellent, and I was anxious for the ending and to know what was next. The narration was excellent as with the other stories in the series. Russo brings the characters he reads to life, and gives them individuality that I enjoy!

OMG! the best in this series so far!
I'd been enjoying this amazing series too much so saying this book Is the best so far It Is because I didn't find another way to expréss how much more I enjoyed this book when compared with the previous two. I think Rick as a character Is one of the most complete because all the emotions involved and when he finally accepted himself completely Is a blast. Cedar Is his perfect complement because together they found the strenght to love and after that everything settled just fine. I cried and laughed and sighed so much that I am just starting over the book just to hear their dialogues again. Of course Mr Russo's narration was just the cherry on top. Loved It!

As good as the first
E Davis does not disappoint in the next installment of Brooklyn Boys. Cedar and Rickey has a unique and enjoyable story. Nick J Russo was great in bringing the story to life. The whole series is amazing.

New Growth
Boiling Point is the third book in the Brooklyn Boys series and although familiar faces from books one and two make an appearance, it can be read as a standalone. This book is a contemporary romance featuring a toxic ex-boyfriend, coming out, and the courage to be true to yourself.
Ricky has been hiding his true self all his life and has no idea how to come out. But meeting Cedar changes everything and helps him find the resolve to move forward with his life and not loose out on love. Cedar has a lot of emotional damage he has to heal from his ex-boyfriend, but meeting Ricky is exactly what he needed to help find his confidence and self-worth. Together these men will help support each other as they deal with difficult obstacles that life throws at them.
I liked this book, but it definitely had some difficult moments for poor Cedar. Cedar drove me crazy because I both loved him and wanted to shake him. He stuck his head in the sand too many times and it ended up putting him in a really bad jam, but luckily this is a romance book so everything worked out for the best in the end.
Nick J. Russo narrated this book like he did the last two books in the series. He did a fantastic job, especially with keeping all the character voices distinct. I had no trouble following along with the story and enjoyed his performance immensely.
