About this listen

IN THE HUNT FOR A KILLER THE SCARS OF DEATH DON'T LIE

FROM IRELAND'S FORMER STATE PATHOLOGIST MARIE CASSIDY COMES A GRIPPING THRILLER WHERE THE SECRETS OF THE MORTUARY ARE UNCOVERED WITH SCALPEL-LIKE PRECISION.

Dr Terry O'Brien has recently arrived in Ireland from Scotland to take up a position as State Pathologist when a high-profile murder occurs. The victim is Rachel Reece, host of a popular true crime podcast on unsolved murders of Irish women and niece of a prominent politician.

As Terry gathers evidence to help with the police investigation, she becomes convinced that they are following the wrong line of inquiry and begins her own research. She soon finds herself in the thick of cold cases of murdered Irish women, with questions mounting.

What did Rachel Reece find out about the unsolved murder of Eileen McCarthy before she died? Who is sending ominous messages to Terry and what do they mean? And why is she increasingly at odds with her superiors?

Terry knows that the pathology never lies. But when her forensic skills reveal something that might hold the key to the case, little does she know the deadly risk of revealing the truth . . .

Quickest book I’ve finished- couldn’t stop listening

I’m a fan of Dr Marie Cassidy books and programs. I just found the flow and description of the story completely engaging. Thankfully not overly descriptive with fluff. They say, write about what you know, and she did! Already looking forward to the next one

Really enjoyed it

Didn’t want the book to end! Liked the in depth scientific and medical info that’s not often present in fiction

A very enjoyable tale from an author steeped in world of crime & pathologists. A nice feel for Dublin too.

Interesting

The storyline was really good, especially as it was set in my hometown. I thought the reading was performed well, and the accents really not bad at all. I hope Marie Cassidy follows it with more.

Murder Case from Different Perspective

Firstly, the narrator is excellent.
Loved this new perspective on a murder case from the forensic scientist point of view. Very well written story with strong characters and stays gripping throughout from start to finish. Really hoping this is the start of a series!

Worth the read

Good storyline with attention to the finer pathology details. Builds to an exciting end. The lady reading it is also great, the accents add to it.
