About this listen
An edge-of-the-seat thriller written by one of the best new talents to come from the UK in years. The plot jumps from the past back to the present as it twists on a gritty rollercoaster ride from start to finish. Jones has a talent to write stories so current it is frightening.

Great story and Author- AWFUL Narrator
This is the 5th of the ‘Soft Target’ books by Conrad Jones, and again a fantastic story. This was completely spoiled however, by the WORST Narrator I have ever had the displeasure to listen to. (Ellery Truesdell) Who on Earth decided that an American with a New York (?) accent was the right Narrator for a book by an English Author, set in Liverpool and surrounding areas. He tried to give each Character a different accent, which just meant that they all sounded like imbeciles! He couldn’t even speak with an English accent, never mind any local dialects. I have listened to many, many American Narrators - usually for American Authors - but even if they were narrating a book by a British Author, their reading has been wonderful. Audible need to do themselves and their listeners a huge favour by never using this Narrator again…this is the first time in my 50+ years of reading/listening to Audio books that I have ever had a book spoiled by such a terrible Narrator.
