About this listen
The death of a journalist from a single bullet to the heart makes for a dramatic story - but the twist in the tale is that this time, it's the man who fired the gun who's asking all the questions... The assassin, Michael Weston, knows he has carried out his assignment successfully. One mistake was enough, a long time ago, when a young girl had accidentally received the fatal bullet. Her father hired a PI named Hoffer to track him down. Every time Weston completed a job, Hoffer was not far behind. But why had the police been on the scene so quickly? Weston has to find out - even if it means coming face to face with Hoffer...

“No Room For Bleeding Hearts”.
A very different story from Ian Rankin, writing as Jack Harvey.
The audiobook had a great storyline to it. With the usual twists and turns that you expect from Ian Rankin. It also features Ian’s telltale dark humour.
The ending was abrupt. It left lots of unanswered questions. I guess it means that a follow up could be made.
The only thing that let this audiobook down was the narrator. I found his voice to be monotone, although he was able to distinguish between characters.

Another great story
A fast paced gung ho story, complicated plot, lousy climax that left the reader or listener hanging and feeling disappointed, too many loose ends and not what one expects from followers of Rankin. The narration by Steven Pacey was superb.

Started really well
The beginning was tight, intelligent, then it slowly became unbelievably boring. A bad sign, when I just skip bits, to find out what on earth the explanation is going to be and it was a huge, and I do mean huge, disappointment. I guess it paid the mortgage though. I always wonder with a collaboration, who wrote which bits, and more to the point, why.

Dreadful. Avoid.
Really bad book. Really Really bad book.
Why do I need to enter a certain number of words to say it's a bad book?
