Summary

The perfect listen for fans of Mary Wood, Kitty Neale, Val Wood and Nadine Dorries.

Orphaned and destitute, will Grace find her own way in the world?

When Grace's Ma passes away and her Da's ship sinks with all hands, Grace is utterly alone in the world. She's sent to an orphanage in Blackpool, but the master has an eye for a pretty young lass. Grace won't be his victim, so she runs, destitute, into the night.

In Blackpool, she finds a home with the kindly Sheila and Peggy - and meets a lovely airman. But it's 1938, and war is on the horizon. Will Grace ever find the happiness and home she deserves?

another beautiful book from Maggie

A beautiful book I fell in love with the main character Gracie from the very beginning. I was with her through all her trails and tribulations which I time brought me to tears. Maggie brilliantly brought all the characters to life and I hung on every word written. It was lovely to see strong women and how life for them was for them in wartime Blackpool. Thank you Maggie for a beautiful book.

predictable but enjoyable.

The book started promising but as it went on it was fairly predictable. A good listen though nonetheless.

Heart wrenching story

I listened with baited breath at every word.
I felt that I wished I could do something to help. The journey that Gracie endured broke my heart and at times it made my so angry. Came good in the end as always.
Brilliantly written x

Tired of the story line

If the story has rape in it I wish it would be put in the outline ! I am getting fed up with so many books with the same story. ! Come on authors lets have something new and gripping for a change instead of going for the same old lines!
