Summary
The seventh book in the bestselling Danny Black series.
A series of gruesome killings take place in Dubai, Ghana and America. The victims are all connected with the SAS.
In Hereford Danny Black realises they have something more specific in common - they were all involved in training a young Muslim soldier, Ibrahim Khan.
Khan has been working under cover in Islamic State in a mission organised by MI6. Danny Black sets out to track him down with the help of Khan's MI6 handler on a trail that leads him to a library of ancient manuscripts in Damascus, the Syrian desert and finally back in the Brecon Beacons.
There Danny discovers that he has finally met his match, his deadliest enemy - and it is the last person he ever expected.

Excellent Listen
I must admit I was put off listening to this book because of some of the comments made by people. But I am glad that in the end I decided to go for it,because I’m a big fan of Chris Ryan. I thought this was a good story, With plenty of action and very well read by the narrator. I could definitely recommend this book.

very much enjoying Danny Black Series.
sadly just one to go. we'll worth a listen. I like Chris Ryan's styles of writing and characters and Chris has produced some of my favourites in this packed genre.
hoping for more books from Danny Black.
oh and credit to Michael Fenner. a voiceove often makes or breaks a book. Michael definitely adds to them.

Not the best Danny Black but still very good.
I've preferred other Danny Black stories but this one is still great.
Michael Fenner does a brilliant job of narrating.

Not one of the best Chris Ryan stories.
The narration was VG but the story was not as good as other books. Slow moving at times but passable.

An impressive addition to the series
This book, like many of Chris Ryan's is at its best when talking about the things that might seem ordinary but for a special forces soldier they are not. How to stop a car, how to cross a boarder unobserved etc. The need to pack a whole story into less than ten hours stretches the scenario a bit but the reader needs to understand that this is hard to avoid.
Chris Ryan also describes the confusion, moral ambiguity and pressures soldiers like Danny Black face every day. Still clever and still enjoyable. Anyone else miss Spud?
