AAA: Addictive, Authentic, Aural gold

It was a Guardian review of YouTuber books that made me interested in Tyler Oakley's memoirs, even though I didn't follow him that closely on YouTube. The review described it as a 'story that needed to be told', and listening to the audiobook, I agreed by that statement tenfold. Not only were his stories interesting, engaging and unapologetically candid, Tyler has an irresistibly entertaining voice that piques your interest. His intonation is rarely flat as he takes you on a magical bouncy castle ride with his voice, and he delivers his funniest, most horrific, and most emotionally raw stories all with a great understanding of drama and pacing, to achieve the optimum effect. The occasional self-aware giggle at his own expense also added to the authentic feel when regaling the reader with his stories. I was entertained the whole way through, and listened to the whole thing in one go. Tyler is an undeniably talented storyteller.

Good times

What made the experience of listening to Binge the most enjoyable?

His giggles as he was talking about some more cringey things, and his obvious love for his followers showing through in how he shared it with us

amazing!

I absolutely loved this audiobook. By far one of my favourite books, not only because of the story but because the way it was performed. I can't believe it took me so long to read this book! I was so hooked that I would listen whenever I could, even if it was for a couple of minutes and I would LOL and smiled to myself wherever I was listening to it, so I probably looked very creepy.

I Learned, How to Binge

Firstly, there were no particular dislikes about the audio itself, or the book, the story ect... Over all, I really enjoyed listening to book while holding the actual thing (the book) in my hands, I think this book is spectacular in many ways. I think listening to the audiobook change the whole experience of the story, that is because Tyler was reading it himself, which made it much more intimate. I definitely recommend getting the audiobook. @vxd_daniel

Listening to Tyler was like watching his videos. a real joy. On one chapter you're laughting, on the next he really goes deep.

Fabulous 💁🏼

Oh my word I love this book so much, it has the exact same feel as Tyler's videos and is so personal, I feel like me and Tyler are sitting having a girly gossip with some deep chats in between, I love it so much and Tyler if you see this you've done amazing and everyone is so proud of you
