Summary

From the bestselling author of the Thrown Away Children series comes another heartbreaking story of life in foster care.

Louise has trouble on her hands from the first moment that 5-year-old Billy Blackthorn comes to stay. He is one of more than 20 children taken into care from a single family, and erupts into the Allen household with a volatility that is frightening and disturbing in equal measure. It is only as Louise begins to uncover the secrets of Billy's dark past that she begins to understand what made his family 'untouchable'.

Another heartbreaking story

1st of all I would like to thank Louise for her open and fresh honesty of her books . This book gets truly harrowing so please dig deep before you delve in to this exceptional true story about monsters than live among us . No wonder some people become loners thank you to all who helped the children caught up in breeding farm . I hope they got justice but knowing our system probably not. There should definitely be some form of therapy for Foster carers who have to live and try to help these children through this evil and not just left till next child arrives god bless you Louise and Lloyd and family and all the other families like yours . You are amazing people l.

The narrator was fantastic as usual thank you

Billy's story

lov3d it, but to think that really happens in this world so sad for the children I hope that the support vulnerable children is of a very important issue and that time and money are there to support their lives

Another great Louise Allan book.

I really enjoyed this book, what i love about Louise is her honesty and willingness to take action. Also as she has been in care herself she has understanding of what the children might be going through. The things Billy was subjected were horriffic.

Another brilliant book

Firstly many thanks to Louise for the brilliant work she and her family do. This one must have been really hard.

Secondly, prepare yourself for this book. No spoilers but I wasn't prepared for some of the content especially near the end. I'm a 52 year old man who has seen and read a lot in my life. However, this story made me feel very emotional.

Finally, a big well done to all foster carers. You deserve so much more recognition for what you do and hopefully something can and will be done to improve both the system and the support you and the children all need.
