Magic and Insightful

I couldn't get into this book as a paperback but as an audio production it is something else completely, to hear the authors voice, to be able to reflect on the words while they are being shared has been very powerful, this is an audio book I am going to keep coming back to as an artist, though very relevant to any situation or circumstance. Thoroughly recommend it!

Everyone should read it!

This book is amazing, I liked the titles of the chapters, the way the author read it and overall the contents.
It’s really interesting, plenty of different stories, it helped me to see my work and my life under a different perspective and now I appreciate even more what I do!

The momentum is in believing in the magic

Honest, real and genuine stories and anecdotes of the authors experience with creative processes and finding and surrendering to creativity. I've never listened to a book so quickly. I consumed it like a piece of dessert. I felt spoiled by the content. Gilbert's voice leading her story is so supportive of the context. For creators who are looking to embrace fear and stop taking themselves so seriously, this book is a cue on how to find yourself being present to your downloads.

Amazing I feel I learned more from this than much

of drama school- even though the art form is different. really inspiring, liberating and generous, embodies what art is or should be to me

Absolutely great book!

Finished this book in about a week, usually narrater's accent can sometimes grate on me, but Gilbert voicing her own books works very well I think.
It's so inspiring and really does work!
Lovely book, highly recommend for ANYONE (not just creatives) if you're stuck in rut.

Incredible

I was recommended this book by my Sister who couldn’t stop texting me about it! She said that what Elizabeth had written about reminded her so much of the struggles I’d been facing and battling with throughout my creative young life. Im 29. I wish I’d read this sooner!!!!
I’d come to understand a lot of what Elizabeth shares, but there was so much more I had yet figured out!! So refreshing and incredibly peaceful to hear her affirm some of these thoughts I’d had as well as learn so much more.
So if you’re lost, or battling with your creative life, seriously take a listen or read of Big Magic. You’re not gonna be preached at, Elizabeth simply and elegantly shares her own up and down experiences and battles, and then how she has come to understand and view things - and boy does it make sense. I would say it’s strengthened me, and made me feel so much more a ease about my crazy arty self more than any self help book ever really has. Enjoy!

What A Beautiful Book

I love her voice and her engaging tone. I love listening to all she has to say, it just feels so poisitive. In fact Big Magic is the first book I listened to of Elizabeth Gilbert's and so I've ended up buying Eat, Pray, Love out of curiosity too! x
