About this listen
Riley finally has love within his grasp, but the only way to protect it may be to let it go. With no more rules standing in their way, Riley Shepard and his angels test the boundaries of their new and unconventional relationship. Jealousy and doubt lie in wait, threatening to ruin the tenuous ties connecting them. But some things are always worth fighting for.
As the forces of Hell conspire against them, their list of allies dwindles, and the question of who to trust becomes an issue of life and death. There is always more to give, and to protect what Riley loves most, he must make an impossible choice. If the price for their lives is breaking their hearts, then Riley will pay it. There is no love without sacrifice.
Betrayal is the fourth book in the M/M+ harem/poly romance series, Fire & Brimstone, featuring hurt/comfort, insatiable guardian angels, sizzling encounters, and an unlikely hero who comes into his own.
NOTE: Betrayal does end in a cliff-hanger.
Trigger warnings include: violence, gore, death, and off-screen sexual assault.

Fantastic!
I absolutely loved this audiobook and the series as a whole. Much of this book is about relationship-building between Riley and his angels...or rebuilding. After Riley took off in the last book and ended his guardianship by Gideon, Jai, and Noel, there was much confusion and hurt feelings. After spending time living and training with Uriel, with limited contact with his angels, Riley returns, and the healing process takes center stage. The growth and deepening of the individual relationships between Riley and Jai, Noel, and Gideon are heart-warming and sometimes heart-rending as secrets, hurt, and deep emotions are revealed. Riley's relationship with each angel is different and unique, and you can see how together they form the support he needs. For those who have read/listened to the other books and lamented the lack of sexual heat, that definitely changes in this book. There is plenty of steam, but also lots of humor, as Riley explores and asks questions about sexuality. Gideon, especially, gets his share of mortifying questions ("What is fisting?"). It's a beautiful story...until it isn't. There is always an undercurrent of tension and danger, and hints that not all is well. Riley has dreams of Lucifer, and there are hints of betrayal. And then, WHAM! I won't spoil the dramatic climax, but there is a battle and losses, and then Riley has to make a decision that will change all of their lives. What is he willing to sacrifice to keep his angels safe?
The narration by Kirt Graves is phenomenal. Each character has a distinct and unique voice, and he delivers the drama with feeling and emotion. It's excellent and takes a great book to an even higher level of enjoyment.

Another disturbing chapter
I’ve been pulled in to this series and I’m always amazed how much Ms. Knight pulls into each story. Riley is starting his second year of college. He’s out from the horrific Ms. Janet’s control and living the life he wants. He has his guardians who are no longer his ‘official’ guardians. Jai and Noel and Gideon all live in the apartment next door. The literal barrier of a wall has been torn down as the emotional barrier between them is also being torn away. Riley spends many nights over with his angels. Things are chaste for most of the book. Riley is still inexperienced. His companions are cognizant of that. Then there’s the night that everything changes.
Before I get to that, I have to give a quick nod to the scene where Riley discusses Uriel’s sex toys with Gideon. I viscerally felt Gideon’s embarrassment as he gave Riley the lay of the land. And their visit to the nursery – gardening center, not the other kind – was a precious moment.
I should’ve known that peace wasn’t going to last.
The book comes with a warning of violence. And it is. Big time. And people die. People Riley cares about. And he’s presented with the ultimate choice. Himself or the three people he loves most in the world. I knew what he’d do, but it didn’t make it any easier to witness.
The book also ends on a cliff hanger, and I’m happy to say I’ve already picked up the next audio and will be listening to it shortly.
Gotta say, I’m loving Kirt Graves. He hits all the right notes in this piece – from Riley’s quiet innocence to Jai and Noel’s antics. With Gideon trying to keep everyone on the straight and narrow – a completely impossible task.
I can’t wait to see how this series ends.

I don’t have the words for how amazing this book is!
Nikole Knight has done something special with this series...and the fantastic narration by Kirt Graves somehow manages to make it even more special. I really don’t have the words to say how amazing Reilly, Noel, Jai and Gideon’s story is and how it continues to develop. Even though I’ve read the books and know what happens...I’m just kept completely hooked when listening. A must read and a must listen!

Betrayal
I love how, over the past four books, Riley has grown into himself, becoming more confident in his relationships with his angels as family and each as an individual loving relationship. Acceptance of his parentage and the fact he is a hybrid and learning to live with his other half.
I have absolute soft spot for Jai, but Gideon is such a sweetheart and we see a lot of interaction between Riley and Gideon in this book, as they tentatively try to establish their boundaries within uncharted feelings for each other.
The relationships between Riley and each of his angels is beautiful and unique.
This is the best PNR series I have listened/read.
Kirt Graves has continued to narrate this excellent series and he is faultless in his delivery. Each and every character has a different and identifiable voice, and he takes a book which is first class in the the Premiere league!

EPIC!!
Oh my God this was epic!!! I need the next book right now! I just can't wait! It's hard to review the 4th book in a series without spoilers but I will try. This book focused a lot in Riley 's relationship with his Angel's and I loved that. I also really loved the character development Riley had throughout the series. In this book we also learned about Gideon's past and Riley's parents. The book was amazing! And the final chapters were epic. The narrator did an absolutely amazing job bringing the story to life. Such an amazing series!

As sweet and romantic as it was devastating
The majority of this audio was such a peaceful respite from the emotional turmoil of this series, but the ending hit hard and I know things are only going to get worse before they get better. Riley and his angels have wound themselves firmly around my heart, and getting to listen as their already close bonds deepened with romantic love was wonderfully satisfying. Whether it was Jai's rougher desire, Noel's sweet affection, or Gideon's shy gardening dates, the sheer depth of their love filled me up with joy. Even the simplest afternoon in the garden or movie night felt like a treasured gift when I could see how happy it made all of them. With all their feelings out in the open, Riley and his angels began exploring the physical aspects of their relationship for the first time, and you'd better believe I devoured every steamy second. I'm so proud of Riley for being brave enough to ask for what he wanted, and the payoff only served to bring them even closer. Outside of the swoon-worthy romances, Riley learned some surprising truths about his parents and had to deal with a devastating betrayal, as the title of the story suggests. When I say the reveal was gut-wrenching, I don't even feel like that comes close to describing the pain and anguish I felt as I listened to Riley suffer from the actions of someone he called his friend. Any last hope I had of Riley being able to escape his destiny was snuffed out as he made the difficult decision to protect his loved ones instead of hiding in denial. I'm already bracing myself for a brutal next chapter, because the consequences of Riley's actions are literally going to change the future of this world.

Unexpected Betrayals
Betrayal is the fourth book in the Fire and Brimstone Scroll series. This series must be read in order otherwise the books won’t make much sense.
Riley has gone through so much in one year: learning about angels and demons, discovering his power, and exploring the love that has grown between him and his angels. All this personal growth has helped prepare Riley for one of the most difficult choices he’ll have to make. There were so many wonderful and sweet moments but also so much angst ending with a cliffhanger that had my heart thumping hard. I was completely engrossed in the story and I’m excited to dive into the next book.
Kirt Graves narrated the audiobook and did a fantastic job- just like he did for the previous three books. The audio quality is fantastic and well produced.
