Summary
If bed-and-breakfast owners Melanie and Liza, along with their laughing ghost tenant, can't find a real estate developer's killer, their own estate will end up with their next of kin.
The Merry Ghost Inn is well and truly open for business. Melanie West, her grandmother, Liza, and their beloved sheepdog and wolfhound mix, Max, are rapidly getting the hang of running their charming bed-and-breakfast inn on the rocky Oregon coast. Not that business goes without a hitch - when your hostelry boasts its own laughing resident ghost, you'd better expect the out of the ordinary. But Melanie and Liza take it all in stride...until a hotshot real estate developer arrives in Sully's Landing, touting his plans to build a tacky amusement arcade smack dab in the middle of the tasteful cliffside town.
No one in Sully's Landing can stand the gaudy developer, but it's still a shock when he ends up murdered. It's even more shocking when Liza's friend Doug emerges as the chief suspect. Melanie and Liza put on their sleuthing caps yet again and set out to clear Doug's name.
They nearly check into accommodations six feet under when, en route to the crime scene, their brakes give out and they narrowly miss plunging over the cliffs to the beach below. Meanwhile, the merry ghost who haunts the inn tries to help by dropping clues for Melanie to find, but her mind is otherwise preoccupied when the killer kidnaps Liza and holds her prisoner.
Now it's up to Melanie to piece together the ghost's clues, save her mother, exonerate her friend, keep her guests happy, and make sure Max gets his walkies in Kate Kingsbury's third mirthful Merry Ghost Inn mystery, Be Our Ghost.

A great addition to the series
A great addition to the Ghostly Hotel series. Still the same comfortable people but the ghost was far more apparent and fun.

Ghostly goings on
I enjoyed this book. This is the third book in this fun series but it does work well as a standalone if this is just first time venturing in Sully's Landing. The series has become a little bit predictable in the fact that Melanie and her Grandmother go into town ask questions, end up at the hardware shop, then come home for food, a cup of tea or a walk on the beach and repeat. In some ways that's okay because I enjoy this series because of the laughing ghost (I think he needs to come in to the story more often) and I also like the characters. It was nice to learn a little bit more about what happened with her mother and I look forward to seeing how the author is going to play it. I did know who the killer was and picked up on the clue fairly easily, especially when it kept getting repeated. The romance (for both characters) is sweet. Will have to look out for the next book.
Melanie and her Grandmother are worried about a developer coming to town and what his plans for there sleepy town means for them. They are shocked after the town's council meeting and he is found murdered, especially when it turns out Melanie's grandmother gentleman friend Doug is the last person to have seen him. The pair had a history making him the prime suspect and the reason for Melanie and her Grandmother to investigate another murder. Can they clear there friends name? But by doing so they put not only the lives in danger but also there beloved dogs.
I like the narrator. She used her voice well to give each characters there own distinctive voice and even some accents.

Another fun adventure
I enjoyed this fun adventure by Kate Kingsbury. Once again, this family duo just have to help the local police detective to solve the latest murder. Tavia Gilbert wonderfully introduces us to some more residents of these seaside towns and with the help of their friendly, resident ghost this fearless grandmother and granddaughter find the culprit whilst running and building up a new business of a bed and breakfast inn- with a difference! It’s got an added bonus of a lovely recipe and the end of each story! Fantastic!
