Summary
Life at Magic Academy is upended when a legendary assassin is reborn in his body.
On the cusp of entering the prestigious Lumina Deck-Building Magic Academy, the young mage Alistair harbors a dark secret: within him dwells Ghost. A reborn master assassin hellbent on revenge.
Bound together by fate and magic, Alistair and Ghost embark on a dual journey of vengeance and discovery. As Alistair navigates the arcane halls of the academy, mastering battledeck spells and summoning skills, Ghost seeks to unravel the mysteries of his untimely demise.
Their worlds collide and intertwine, revealing a threat far greater than either could have imagined....
Reborn Assassin is the next action-packed, deck-building LitRPG Series from Harmon Cooper. It's like My Hero Academia and Breaking Bad got together to write a progression fantasy after watching Kill Bill.
About the Series: This Isekai magic academy adventure features a three-tiered LitRPG card system that revolves around summons, wand-based spells, and abilities. Perfect for fans of All the Skills and A Summoner Awakens!

Much better than expected
Another listen worthy book. There are some very ingenious things within the story which makes it feel intriguing. It grew on me after 2-3 chapters. Very disappointed when I noticed there’s only one book available. Now that I got to the "juicy stuff" I want to know what’s going to happen next .

Great story, great narration.
Oh look, another new series by Harmon Cooper😁 Full as usual with crazy characters, Alastair, Ghost, Juno Squish and lots of minor characters, all of them beautifully written, loads of humour, especially the Alastair/Ghost dynamic. The deck building aspects are unique and the academy quests and tests are crazy. The cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake is the Soundbooth production, as always bringing even more life to the story. So much to enjoy about this book.

Feeling psychotic with many voices in your head? I Noah guy
Battledeck Academy by 🪶@_HarmonCooper published by @AethonBooks and Soundbooth Theater. A good plot backed by strong characters but too many 🎙️narrators. Any theme of rouges / assassins is bound to catch my attention... I do love assassination in #litRPGs.
This is my first reading of @_HarmonCooper and it won't be the last. His writing was good and his imagination wild. I really liked the "levelling-up" aspects of the book. Our assassin👻Ghost takes over the body of our weak MC to level him up and assassinate his killers in kind.
Whilst the plot drove the excitement, I was however at times😖 confused by the character changes voiced by far too many narrators: as an avid 🎧 audiobook listener, five is taking the piss. It could have been much better with 🔊 fewer voices due to the rapid changes of dialogue.
📚3/5 ⭐️ #BookReview
