About this listen
Traditions run deep….
Most mercenary units fly flags on two flagpoles at their headquarters: one with their unit’s flag, and other bearing the flag of their current employer. However, the Third Regimental Combat Team—a.k.a. the Eridani Light Horse—leaves one flagpole bare, as a reminder of the death of the Star League, and the other pole flies the Light Horse’s unit and regimental flags at half-mast.
What triumphs and tragedies shaped the Eridani Light Horse and its traditions? What drove them to become a force to be reckoned with, an elite mercenary unit with one of the longest histories and the deepest traditions in the Inner Sphere? Now, collected for the first time, nine of BattleTech’s finest authors bring the legacy of this storied unit to life like never before.
Witness the Eridani Light Horse’s origins in the Star League, and follow their evolution all the way through the Succession Wars and the Clan Invasion to their downfall during the Dark Age and their resurrection in the uncertain future of the ilClan era.

Good overall
Some good stories which built on characters and was interesting. Some stories were much better then others the only downside to this audio were some of the narration was awful, really really bad accents mixed with some bad pronunciations but overall a good book due to the stories.

Sounds like an amateur collaboration.
I really wish I read the reviews before buying this anthology, lesson learned, it seems.
The stories aren't bad, to be fair, but the narrators are not great. I don't think this has been professionally edited, judging by some of the mispronounced words and obvious cuts.
Judging by some of the 'voice acting', the narrators are clearly not professionals, the drifting 'accents' made following some of the character interactions challenging. If this is a fan production, then I say bravo and we'll done for making the effort.

Great stories let down by the performance
I loved the idea of the Eridani Light Horse through the ages. However the narrators were all sub par. I'm not sure if this was 'proof' listened or just phoned in. Words were mis-pronounced, the concept of character voices was either high pitched screeching or Swedish Chef impersonations. I will seriously consider before I download the next ones if it isn't Tren Sparks or someone of that calibre.

Performances Dissapoint
Actors go for accents but can’t seem to decide and flit between cockney British, faux Russian, and stereotypical asian. Yet, their standard narration is much better. I would have preferred that they read deadpan. I don’t usually get distracted by narration but this was particularly jarring. Also, there’s a strange mispronunciation of words that makes it seem like the production went with the first take and didn’t bother correcteing the readers
