Summary

A Space Marine Battles Novel

Even as Great Wolf Harek Ironhelm closes on his ancient enemy, Magnus the Red, the Fang, a fortress on the Space Wolves home world of Fenris is besieged by a massive force of Thousand Sons.

Listen to it because...

A couple of thousand years after Prospero Burns, Magnus comes back for round two. And with Russ no longer around, it falls to Bjorn the Fell-Handed to step into the ring. Ancient Dreadnought vs traitor primarch...fight!

The story:

It is M32, a thousand years after the Horus Heresy. The Scouring is over and the Imperium is at the height of its post-Crusade power. When Magnus the Red is tracked down to Gangava Prime, the Space Wolves hasten to engage the daemon primarch. Even as Great Wolf Harek Ironhelm closes on his ancient enemy, the Fang, a fortress on the Space Wolves home world, is besieged by a massive force of Thousand Sons. A desperate battle ensues as the skeleton forces of Wolf Lord Vaer Greylock attempt to hold back the attacking hosts before the last of his meagre defences gives in. Though a single Scout ship survives to summon Great Wolf Harek Ironhelm back to Fenris, none of the defenders truly realise the full scale the horror that awaits them, nor what the Battle for the Fang will cost them all.

Wolves and Magnus

A great story well read and keeps you engaged. Also a great insight into the working of the wolves themselves!

An epic siege novel

A story laden with deceit and trickery, pitching two legendary nemesis against one another.
Marvelously narrated as always by JB.
An unexpectedly wholesome duo of human and dreadnought! Cool to see Bjorn the fell handed in action as well. A testament to the space wolves (and thousand sons!)

More like this.

I’ve all ways enjoyed story’s about the wolves but this one stands head and shoulders above the others.

A lot of 40k book feel like they are aimed at children, this one is a very good adult Warhammer 40k story, highly recommend.

Bjorn 2 electric boogaloo

decent read, hard to realise it was in the 32nd millennium but perhaps more my lack of knowledge than anything else, engaging with good action. VO man good.

Epic..

Once the dreadnoughts are unleashed, it brought tears to my eyes!

They begin a tease about Russ, but then back off... The bar stewards!

John Banks excellent again as the narrator

The story is quite long but has some very interesting bits about Magnus and the state of the post heresy thousand sons. Also cool to have the sword Dousefyr(?) pop up as that's used by space wolves in m41 still.
