Summary

From USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author comes this riveting brother's best friend romance.

Take my advice. Never fall for your brother’s best friend.

Bracken Casey.

Our hometown’s playboy.

My brother’s best friend.

The man I love.

He doesn’t do girlfriends.

He doesn’t do commitments.

And he doesn’t see me as anything more than his best friend’s little sister.

Until one night changes everything.

A drunken kiss leads to a drunken screw.

Now he can’t keep his hands off of me, and I can’t say no.

Rules are set: No one can find out.

It can’t lead anywhere.

But rules were always meant to be broken.

And that’s exactly what we are doing.

Breaking them all. Something bad is bound to happen.

Slow starter

Not one of her best booked took about 15 chapters to get going. Was a nice story.

Nautica and Bracken!

Nautica has had feelings for her brother’s best friend Bracken, but she didn’t expect anything to come of it. One night changes everything and when the chemistry between them ignites. The know that being together is like a bomb waiting to go off but when it does nothing could have prepared them for the fallout.

Bracken has always kept his relationships casual and commitment free, but he has always knows that Nautica was different. He was unable to deny his attraction to her and handled the situation in the worst possible way. Five years later he is back in town, but will he be able to convince Nautica that he deserves a second chance?

I did enjoy the evolution of the characters as Bracken becomes the man that Nautica deserves and the performance of the narrators brought both the characters and their stories to life.

Bracken & Nautica’s HEA

3.75 stars

Charity Ferrel is a great author and so far I have not found a book I didn’t like. ‘Bad for you’ is unfortunately one of my least favourites.

The story was interesting and brother’s best friend/ Little sister tropes always promises an angsty read/listen. This book had all of that with a heavy pinch of smutt. To me Bracken’s character was very teenager like and I did not like him at all, even after all the grovelling. Nautica forgave too easily but when you love someone you do forgive easily so I could relate to her.

In terms of the narrators I didn’t feel like they did the characters justice which is why my rate is just shy of 4 star but don’t let put you off from listening. It is still a great audiobook full of drama, twists and a whole lot of steam.

Loved this brother's best friend romance!

I love a good brother's best friend romance, and Charity Ferrell delivered one with Bad for You. When Nautica was going to the same college as Bracken, her brother was happy! Knowing Bracken would watch out for her took a load off his mind. But the building attraction that was going on for years finally overcame the couple, and things changed. Knowing it could only be a one time thing, they swore not to speak of it again. Until it did. And their story begins. Both young, these two made some bad decisions and the twists and turns in the story are very unexpected! Bracken is truly the bad boy and his actions cost him. Nautica has some maturing to do as well and Ferrell gives them time. It's a great story, taking it's time to give the characters time to grow. I enjoyed this a lot!

Narrated by Lacy Laurel, Nautica definitely gets her own mind and attitude. Laurel tunes into this college student and gives her all the feels and then lets us feel the maturity as she ages. Christian Stark is new to me, and his voice is perfect for Bracken. A little arrogant, a lot emotional and he takes us through Bracken's journey to adulthood. This is a great pairing and wonderful listen!

Easy listening

Lacey and Christian did a fabulous job of bringing Bracken and Nautica's story to life.

Although it seemed a little flat at the beginning of the book, it quickly became super easy to listen to.
I got absorbed in their story and absolutely hated having to stop listening to do adult tasks.

Bracken and Nautica's story was sexy, playful, a little sad, and seemed chock full of drama—broken promises, torn feelings and a bunch of hurts—and while it was a little predictable in some places, I still was surprised by a few things.

While I don't want to ruin the story for anyone, I will say that I loved how the story ended.
