Excellent book
I’m so pleased I didn’t take onboard the 3 star, review I saw.
This out of all the quit-lit books I’ve read is up there with the best and really resonated with me. I think this the first book where I actually feel that I can do the no drinking too. My story is different from Millie’s and that doesn’t matter, but in a way it’s the same underlying reason. Lots of us are drinking to numb our feelings for one reason or another . I’ve gone through the terribly lonely stage and I’ve been the party animal too. I found this book to be a great balance of Millie’s story and medical advice . I loved the doctors input and when she explained how some people can drink just a little and suffer from liver damage and other can drink a lot and not be affected at all, really hit home. None of us know which one we are going to be. Is it worth it? Is it worth ending up on a hospital ward? Millie, you are a fabulous , gorgeous girl and have been through a lot . Thank you so much for writing this book . You will help many people and have already with me.

Always helpful to have another sober-lit book
I’m quite new into my sober life so I’ve listened to a lot of sober lit over the last few months. I thought this book had plus points but it doesn’t know if it’s a memoir or a self-help book. I think the stories were extremely powerful and the impact of alcohol and the power of a sober life are excellent and clear. Could have done without the sections by the doctor as I do not feel they belong here. Narration was far too slow: I had to listen at 1.2x speed!!
