For example, food advertised as sugar-free may be loaded with fats, refined cereals and even hidden sugars. In July, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, approved a proposal to display nutritional information, such as total sugar, salt and saturated fat content, in bold letters on packaged food labels.
