About this listen

Colin

Being rejected by family hurt like hell, but I kept my head high, left my toxic relatives behind, and moved across the country to Gaynor Beach CA. Luckily, I have great furry company. My bulldog puppy, Widget, was dumped on me for not meeting my parents' ridiculously high standards either, so we're comforting each other. With a nice rental house, and a new job, Widget and I were ready for a fresh start, until I got a devastating diagnosis. I can't take care of Widget properly while trying to save my own life, and I expect a long hard road. So I'll have to break both our hearts and put her up for adoption to someone who can, for her sake. Right?

James

I’ve wanted to get a pet forever, but my family circumstances didn’t allow it. Now I’m away from my masses of relatives, and on my own, I’m ready to take on a furry companion. My friend, a guy who never says no to an animal in need, introduces me to Colin and his beautiful puppy Widget. I’m horrified Colin feels he needs to give her up just because he's sick. I’m happy to take Widget as a temporary foster. I’m also happy to offer support to the new guy in town who is so very alone in a time of crisis. Helping someone in need comes naturally to me. But what if that temporary help turns into me wanting a forever relationship? This is a gay romance slow-burn novel about new beginnings, found family, unconditional love, and a puppy named Widget. This mid-angst story has a guaranteed happily ever after.

What a wonderful start to this series that I can't wait to continue reading.

Gaynor Beach is this quaint place. It has been the setting of past books which I loved but no worries if you haven't read those. This is a whole new beginning of single dog dads as appose to single dads with human children. If u have read that series than you know the sweetness that is always included in Gabbis stories. The author has really outdid herself with this one though.

I was drawn in from the very first page. The adorable Frenchie Widgit definitely steals the show early on and adds a whole other level of cute.

Although this is definitely one of the sweetest stories I have read in a long time, Colins backstory of his rotten family disowning him and his current liver falure and his guilt and pessimism about finding a donor def added a ton of emotion to this story. With that being said, I still found it be a light and angst free story. There is basically no heat as Colin is quite litterally on his death bed and I didn't mind at all. This book makes up for it with all the emotional chemistry between these 2, instant connection and sparks and heartfelt friendship and love and care.

Not only were the 2 MCs very swoony but I absolutely adored each and every side character. James comes from a very close large family that immediately welcomed Colin in as their own. I absolutely love the world the author has created.

I absolutely would recommend ready this very heart filled story. It is very sweet but I wouldn't call it fluffy. There are alot of emotions included.

The narrator did a great job. He expressed all the emotions really well and brought the story to life. He kept a good flow and I found his voice pleasant to listen too. He gave all the characters, even the side characters, their own distinct voice that suited them all perfectly, making it a great listen.

Another great story by Gabbi Grey.

I loved this story when I read it with my eyes and now I’ve loved it even more after listening to Michael Ferraiuolo’s wonderful voice. There’s not a lot more I can say that I didn’t already say when I read it so my original review is shown below.

I have loved every book I've read that Gabbi Grey has written. She writes heartfelt, touching stories that often bring me to tears – in the best way – and Love Furever is no exception. Colin and James are perfect for each other and the way that James cares for Colin during his medical issues was so sweet. Since the blurb didn't define Colin's medical condition, I won't reveal it here but I will say that I have two friends who have gone thru very similar things and I think Colin's condition was portrayed very realistically and with compassionate understanding.

Love, Furever is a spicy, slow-burn romance that kept me glued to my e-reader. Once I started reading it, I didn't stop until I finished; luckily, I didn't have any other obligations. 😊 This is a story that really touched me and it's one I'll remember for more than a few days.

very good

Reread as audiobook. Very good narration, and a lot of good acting, in particular with the difficult emotional moments.
Widget the dog was very cute, and her issues and training were well written. The characters and families were enjoyable, and it was nice to see a lot of the people from the original series (this could certainly be read as a standalone). I appreciated that this book didn't shy away from a myriad of difficult feelings around physical illness and possible death. Colin's illness meant that there wasn't much physical spice, which definitely fit the story. The cover fits perfectly.

Fabulous Story & Listen🎧Consuming & Heartwarming!

This is a wonderful start to an amazing new series written by Gabbi Grey, a series set in Gaynor Beach, one of my favorite places to visit and spend time in. The first book is James’ and Colin’s story, and it is a story that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. James’ friend Arthur is an avid animal rescuer and they discuss fostering pets, though James is thinking more on the line of kittens, thinking they would be easier. Colin and his parent’s rejected dog, Chambord, leave New York and his toxic family behind and head to Gaynor Beach for a fresh start. Chambord was a good cross country companion, despite having some health issues, something Colin has experience with, and he realizes that caring for all of Chambord’s needs may be more than he could handle so after he arrives at Gaynor Beach he talks to an animal rescuer, Arthur, about giving her up for adoption to a family who can take care of all her needs. Arthur, knowing Colin only has Chambord’s best interest in heart, comes up with another idea, having someone help him and he knows the perfect person for the job, James. James, who is caring and has a heart of gold, was the perfect solution for Colin and his French Bulldog, who they wind up renaming to a more suitable name, Widget. I thought Colin and James were great together and for each other, and for Widget, too. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with the perfect balance of drama, heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions, and a slow burn but so worth the wait romance. As always, Gabbi Grey’s writing, plot and world building are incredible, as are the character growth and development. Thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Michael Ferraiuolo is the perfect narrator to bring these characters to life and does some with a complete understanding of who he is portraying, giving each a voice that is fitting. I love how he is a natural in each role, sounding believable and just as I imagined they would sound. He nails it in both lead roles, grasping every aspect of their personalities, James’s sweet and caring side and Colin’s insecurities as he battles his health issues. And he was just as amazing performing the roles of the secondary/side characters too. He set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. Ferraiuolo is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.
