When Stanley Michael Slago rides into Waco, it looks as if he has ill intentions and is there to start trouble. He wears his gun low, which immediately garners the attention of the residents of Waco as well as the lawmen. And the stranger asks a lot of questions— ones that make him sound like a killer for hire. Soon he butts heads with Jubal and his deputies… that is until the truth comes out for his being there. This man is looking for those responsible for killing his wife and parents. For over six months he has searched for the scum who took from him the most precious thing in his life—his family.
Slago has been in and out of numerous towns all across the frontier since his family’s death asking questions, following up on leads, and hoping he would soon get lucky in finding the killers. Then finally he gets a break. He stumbles upon some information that leads him to believe that those responsible for murdering his family are from Waco. At least one of them anyway.
