Jenny Shephard is twelve years old and missing.
Her teacher, Sarah Finch, knows better than most that the chances of finding her alive are diminishing every day.
As a little girl Sarah's older brother went out to play and never come home. The strain of not knowing what happened to him tore her family apart.

Good story
narrative spoilt it for me. Too many irritable voices, also same voices for different characters. won't listen to this narrator again.

Irritating narrator
The narrator’s voice and characters are so distracting and cringy. It set raw fits from the writing. I’m half way through and will persevere as I usually love the author.

Awful narration spoils it
Quite a slow burn and not as good as some of Jane Casey’s other stories, but the thing that really ruined it for me was the narrator.
Ridiculous accents had me thinking it was set in the 1940s. It spoiled what should have been a harrowing storyline as it felt like the Famous Five Do Murder.
Left several unanswered questions too.

Ruined by narrator
I normally really like Jane Casey as an author but this was totally ruined by the insipid narration. The characterisation with ridiculous voices made the whole thing more of a pantomime than and thriller- so irritating that I gave up half way through.

Really good story
Really enjoyed the plot and the characters, an enthralling listen, not sure about the narrator, I got more used to her as the story went on.

Waste of time
Can’t believe this is author of the Kerrigan series. The story is melodramatic, characters unconvincing and plot turns implausible. Very disappointed
