About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
‘What an amazing piece of work this is. Ground-breaking, thought-provoking and highly accessible. Everyone should read it. The dark, scary, exciting song of our age. 100 out of 100’ IRVINE WELSH
Capitalism is dead. Welcome to technofeudalism.
In his boldest and most far-reaching book, the visionary economist and number-one bestselling author Yanis Varoufakis shows how the owners of big tech became the world's feudal overlords – replacing capitalism with a fundamentally new system that enslaves our minds, defies democracy and rewrite the rules of global power.
But as Varoufakis also reveals, technofeudalism contains new opportunities to thwart and overturn it, bringing into focus more clearly than ever the revolution we need to escape our digital prison.
‘An epochal, once-in-a-millennium shift . . . this isn't just new technology. This is the world grappling with an entirely new economic system and therefore political power’ Observer
‘An urgent demand to seize the means of computation’ CORY DOCTOROW

Listen carefully.
listen carefully to this work of good sense and love. Rent, at present flowing to the technofeudalists, is created by the whole community. it belongs to us.

Great analysis
Really enjoyed the analysis of technology and its development relating to the economy’s the west and how it is eating capitalism, but Yannis over indulged himself in the last couple of chapters with socialism and revolution as the only solutions. Given Yannis’ background it should be expected and not to be entirely dismissed as it contains some interesting potential solutions, just not entirely a final balanced offering. Overall very good and deeply insightful from a man who has a very important perspective. Well worth reading if you are into considering the near future.

A masterpiece
This book is a masterpiece that overlays history, economics, finance, business, and politics. Yanis's explanations, conclusions, and theories are thought-provoking and presented clearly without jargon. His narrative performance is exceptional, especially since English isn't his native tongue. As you close your eyes and listen to him read, you're taken on an inspiring journey that incorporates the Socratic questioning, prophetic witness, and tragicomic hope needed for democratic energies to flourish against the forces of nihilism and poverty.
This book aims to expand our creative minds, not to demand agreement on everything discussed. After all, technofuedalism is a theory equivalently pitched to answer a difficult question never provided to his late father. This review has been left to respect a true intellectual at the top.

if only!
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Especially Yanış' solution at the end but like the title of my review says. If only it was to come true!

Amazing analysis of our current relationship with money and power
Yanis provides a deep and scathing account of how our private behaviours are monitored and monetised by the cloud companies, the techno feudalists who know everything about us and exploit us and our online activities for their own monetary and power gain
