Critic reviews

A portrait of female ambition in all its raw and divine glory, Carrie Soto will stay with you long after the last page is turned (Erin Kelly)

An exhilarating, immersive and gripping ode to the cost of greatness, this is Taylor Jenkins Reid's best book yet. Carrie Soto is an icon for the ages. Five stars, ten out of ten, an A+ and more from me! (Laura Jane Williams)
There's something about Carrie I will take forward with me in my life, and be a little better for. This book comes out in a few short weeks and you should preorder it. It made me cry twice, and when I finished reading, I had to sit for a minute with the hole it left in my chest . . . just order it (Emily Henry)

Painful accents

The narrator did a great job overall, but her attempt at English and Australian accents leaves a lot to be desired. Sadly, they completely took me out of the story and, over time, became quite grating. Thankfully they don’t appear *too* frequently, but they are frequent enough to make a difference.

Best 2.99 I’ve ever spent

Absolutely the most appalling Australian and British accents I’ve ever heard. But the production quality and story is fantastic. Buy this book immediately if you love tennis

Taylor Jenkins best yet

Having read several of Taylor’s books I have always thought of them as more of a “holiday read” than a gripping novel. I believe this book is her best yet and for me is the first title I’ve really raced to get through and felt I didn’t want to end. A really enjoyable read and a much less predictable storyline than her other book.

Great story but bad accents!

The Australian accents sound British & Carrie’s dads voice is also strange! Learnt a lot about tennis though !

Not her best

I thought the storyline was poor despite good narration and touched of reality news I just couldn't find myself immersed in this l managed to finish it purely because of good narration

Great, as expected.

After listening to Daisy Jones, Evelyn Hugo, and Malibu Rising, I knew I’d like this book too. A fantastic author, and performed brilliantly. Thank you for writing this.

Great book

I really liked this although there was not very much substance to it. It was enjoyable and the narration was very good apart the awful English accent.

Great story, great characters

Very easy to follow and a good story with a lot of debt. One of my favourite book, so far by Taylor Jenkins Reid!

Good if you like tennis

Pretty predictable but still a good listen, especially if you’re interested in tennis.

Narrator’s English accent needs some refining though!

Gripping

Gripping read. As a novice tennis fan, the story shows you the inside of a top tennis players mind as her record is threatened. You flow Carrie as she learns a lot about herself as she tries to claim back her legacy
