About this listen

Includes re-recorded Salvage Trouble with all new opening scene to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Black Ocean in audio.

Meet the galaxy's unluckiest outlaws.

Carl Ramsey is an ex Earth Navy fighter pilot turned con man. His ship, Mobius, is home to a ragtag crew of misfits and refugees looking to score a big payday but more often just scratching to pay for fuel. The crew consists of his ex-wife (and pilot), a drunkard, four-handed mechanic, a xeno-predator with the disposition of a 120kg housecat, and the galaxy's most wanted wizard.

Along the way, the Mobius crew crosses paths with the Black Ocean's vilest scum, from pirate fleets to criminal syndicates, and most law-abiding scum, including Earth Interstellar Enhanced Investigative Organization, ARGO high command, and the Convocation of Wizards. Time and again, riches lie just out of reach, because for all the talents Carl Ramsey and his crew possess, they've also got an outlaw's greatest weakness: a conscience.

Galaxy Outlaws is a collection of all 16 Black Ocean missions chronicling the adventures of the starship Mobius and her crew, along with 6 short stories. This series is the perfect cure for the Firefly season two blues. It's what you'd get if the Orville took place on Serenity, or if Star Wars had wizards instead of Jedi.

This was brilliant. Really love it. The British accents need a bit of work in my opinion but wasn't even close to enough to spoil my enjoyment. Absolutely fantastic.

Great story, loved it

Picked this up as a long sci fi book for a single credit, and want expecting much, but found a well developed universe with interesting characters which is crying out for a TV series to be made!

Excellent collection

I've listened to al 85 hours of this several times over and loved it every single time!
We all know a Carl Ramsey, he's the type of person that falls in cr@p and comes out smelling of roses with a winning lottery ticket in one hand and the keys to a brand new Ferrari in the other! He's witty, charming and grudgingly loyal, someone you would love to have on your side - although he would drive you around the bend with his antics. There are lots of strong, loveable and interesting characters throughout and a great narrator that brings them all to life! I bought this on the premise that it was good value for money and thank my lucky stars (pun intended) that I found it.

Excellent! What a journey!

This mammoth of a series was a real pleasure to experience. The stories, the characters, their relationships, and the narration among all other facets were masterful through and through. Michael Naramore's voices for the characters brought them to life so beautifully and were so distinct and believable it's unreal. Adored every minute of it and will remember it as one of my best listening experiences for the rest of my life.

Masterpiece.

As a non reader I’ve recently launched into audiobooks and of all the titles I’ve “ear read” none have held me captivated until now. Brilliant story, full of twists and turns and extremely well narrated. Really disappointed it’s finished but hoping there will be more tales from the black ocean in very short order.

Absolutely fantastic
