So much more than a ‘self help’ book
I expected this to be a really useful practical book having watched Professor Peterson on YouTube. It is full of wisdom and insight but it’s way more than a self-help book. It’s an amazing work of philosophy. I got so much from it and expect to get a lot more. I plan to listen to the whole thing all over again. Do yourself a favour and get this book it’s amazing.

A book I never knew I needed.
I first discovered Jordan Peterson through his videos and appearances at debates and I was hooked on what he had to say in each one. So when I heard that he had books on Audible I had to check them out.
Despite being longer than I'm used to, I was invested in every single chapter (or rule in this case) and the examples he used made all his points clear without patronising me, I enjoyed his references to pop culture, mythology and religion as they didn't feel contrived.
But most importantly, he made me think about how I can apply these rules in my everyday life, and even before I was finished I found that they really made me think a lot recently.
Granted there were some things I disagreed with, but I'm actually considering buying a physical copy of this book. Thanks for this, Jordan. Looking forward to your nect book!

A man on a mission to set the world straight, with all the tools required to do the job well. An uncanny insight into people that presses the reset button on reality. Just brilliant.

Enlightening, really makes you examine yourself
I have been looking for answers as to why I am here, this book made complete sense to me. It explains everything that I have been feeling and offers a very meaningful explanation. I feel that I am now able to understand who I really am. My future is now exciting and I feel alive for the first time in a very long time.

Wisdom, guides, stories, philosophy, psychology
There's a lot to take from this as an audio book, you have to read it slowly and fully engage and consider what is being said. A lot of wisdom can be taken from this, especially for parents, especially to those who wish to pursue self development.

The book that liberals love to hate
Jordan B Peterson induces an instinctive, knee-jerk resistance in we of the literal metropolitan elite. Some would judge him by the company he keeps - he's a darling of the deplorable right - some by the things he is understood to say - he is fully prepared to utter unmentionable heresies and then not resile from them. And he's an liberal arts academic, prepared to loudly advocate a conservative, traditionalist and essentially Christian ethical programme as a corrective to contemporary ills - convention liberal wisdom being it is exactly that ethic that is the root of those ills in the first place.
But I suspect deep down its the sense of disquiet that, unlike most of the charlatans and lunatics that operate on the fringes today, Peterson has the arguments and rhetorical skills to make his case, and for all the daily outrages that the Trumpers and Brexiteers, and odious populist alt right perpetrate, there is a trick we of the liberal elite got wrong that allowed this new populism to gain a foothold. After all Donald Trump is president: that speaks for itself as an indictment of the left.
Most of those who loudly deplore Peterson's schtick won't have read his book. (indeed that, in a nutshell, sums up the problem). It contains much that one might not agree with, and while Petersons range of metaphorical reference is wide he comes back repeatedly to the Bible and Carl Jung, which will not be to everyone's taste, but this is nonetheless a thoughtful, plausible, well articulated case for an approach to life. Peterson takes on plenty of latter day sacred cows - that men and women are biologically different, that gender self-identification is nonsense, that the imbalances in societal roles between men and women have complex multi-variant causes and are not necessarily as odious as they seem from a naive point of view - and for the most part makes a fair case. You don't have to agree with it, but it is a perspective that has value and should be put forward.
The book is a little long, and I am more enamoured with post modernism than Peterson is, but this is an important contribution into the general sociopolitical debate which has become rather one-sided and out of touch with the great thrust of the popular consensus, as Hillary Clinton found to her cost in 2016.

An essential guide for anyone in need of help
Fantastic to have the book read by the author, thus keeping all the nuance and meaning of the prose. An essential guide for anyone in need of help and wisdom to live better.
